Suspension problems with Mk1 Fabia 1.4 16V Elegance (100 bhp :D )

Featured Replies

My fabia seems to handle like a tank, i did the old push test on all four corners of the car and only one sprung back up and held like it should, the other three seemed to just wobble and depress far too much.

Is this a shock absorber problem?

If so what are the best replacement items? standard or something a bit more...fun?

Any help would be appreciated

Aaron

I thought if you push down on the corner and the car bounces more than 3 times than the shock has worn.

Exactly my point, im assuming its the shocks as it keeps moving, from what i understand it should fall rise then hold - mine doesnt do any of that it just wobbles !

Will the springs need doing too ?

Buy coilovers mate. :)

The only reason to ever use coilovers all round is so that the ride height of the car can be adjusted for a particular 'look'.

There is nothing wrong with the standard setup other than that the springs are too soft, this is a Petrol Fabia remember, the engine is MUCH lighter than the VRS.

I did not realise that, which springs would you recommend? As with the vrs engine being heavier would the vrs setup make it too stiff??

Does anyone have trouble with the fuel computer? Mine seems to drop fuel quicker than it goes in, 150 miles on 20 £ but the computer always says 200 miles when I fill up :/
