I think you might have misheard. I've been in touch with Simpsons Colne about their demo vrs and I'm going tomorrow afternoon to test drive it. I've been told it is a race blue metallic diesel estate DSG. We'll see what happens/what car they've actually got.

Royce Roberts skoda Hull (soon to be rebranded a DM Keith dealership) has a Petrol DSG in Race Blue, with white seat trim & pictoris wheels. Other than that it appears to be base spec.

Either or mate, all demos will be Estates, at least that's what I've read.

 

Every dealer got 'auto issued' a VRS for showroom/demo stock, some may have options but I doubt anything too fancy, it's then up to us to order the exact spec that we want.

Race blue Petrol DSG. Having a test drive Sunday.

After ringing around it seems most, if not ALL cars sent out are base spec, some have DSG. I know Simpson's Preston were a bit cheesed off not getting some 'toys' on their demo. I also know that they like demo's done up like Christmas trees, and why not?? It sells the car.

 

Seems like a clanger dropped. If you want a car to sell SURELY you should spec it up well so customers can see all the options and have a play. Stupid if you ask me, Seems people are a little underwhelmed by the looks of this car.

 

I bet all the dealers are a bit peeved trying to shift base spec models after 3 months, with 0% pcp on new ones.

 

Could be some good deals on demos in three months time though.

Test driving the Colne one today, hopefully.

 

Edit:  I'm not.  Manager has decided it's not available to TD until next week now. Grr.

Neither seemed to have any extras which I found a bit surprising.  Maybe the launch experience of the Rapid where the showrroom cars were specced up so high the price must have put people off has taught them a lesson in these days of cash being tight.

 

Both available to test drive on request.  Drove the DSG yesterday.  Very nice.  That may well be one decision on the spec. made!

What did you think of it?

Seems like SUK or is it Skoda in general are dropping clangers left / right & centre over release of new models.

 

Rapid - Poor initial sales, along with changes in basic spec, and then having to introduce offers to to shift the tin.

 

Octy vRS - lack of cruise as std, Limited dealer allocation of model spec & colour, & looks like delays in getting demos out to dealers.

 

Maybe all this hype about forthcoming models then rushing to get it out to the public is not actually the way to do it. 

People that go and test drive or even just sit in it, should post pics and their impressions!

 

It's much more useful to the rest of us than for you to just say the color and engine/transmission. Other countries aren't as lucky as you are in this respect.
