People that go and test drive or even just sit in it, should post pics and their impressions!

It's much more useful to the rest of us than for you to just say the color and engine/transmission. Other countries aren't as lucky as you are in this respect. :)

The purpose of the thread is so people can find info about the car and check it out for themselves, really.

What did you think of it?

Really good, I had an 04 Leon cupra r before the fabia vrs, and it feels like the Leon, can just cruise along, no concept of the speed you're going ! Comfortable ride, doesn't feel like a large car. Will be revisiting within a week to stick my order in !

Henry's in Glasgow have a race blue estate. Sorry no other details.

Didn't mean it as a thread hijack, people can post the impressions/pics in any of the VRS threads and nobody would mind. :)

Overall: hugely impressed.

The seats are incredibly comfortable.  The lumbar support mechanism is far more effective than any other I've used and the seat just hugs you all-round.  I've got the vRS alcantara/leather in my current car, but the new version is much, much better.  I also sat in the back, which seemed to tickle the salesman (Christian, I believe) and thought the forward view was pretty good.  Yes the new seats are big and the headrest is flush to the main body, but the sheer size of the mk3 means that forward visibility is still very good.

The rest of the interior looked like a classy version of what we are already familiar with.  The carbon effect in the door cards and gearknob surround looks really nice.  The stitching on the steering wheel is vibrant and feels good and the gloss finish around the radio unit really adds to the overall dash.  Despite a few disappointed reviews on here, I think the inside of a  mk3 vRS is a truly great place to be.

The outside.  The back, for an estate, is very nice - but not my thing.  The front is oustanding, even better than in the promo pictures.  Perhaps it was aided by the colour too, but the front of the demo at Simpsons looks REALLY aggressive and the protruding lower isn't out of place or vulgar at all.  The alloys are the Pictoris, rather than Gemini ones.  At first glance (in the brochure) these look like an updated version of the Neptune design.  However, they are much more angular and really quite different when you see them up close. I like them, but not as much as the Neptunes, and I also think they looked a bit 'lost' n the car overall. The new car looks larger (well, it is!) and thus 18" wheels are not quite as striking as they are on the mk2.  They are also tucked in quite a bit for me, so I'd be tempted to use spacers depending on how they look with the hatch.

Overall, very impressed and happy with the new vRS, but emotionally destroyed by their confirmation of the lengthy delay to the production of the hatch!

Winchester motor company have a race blue petrol vRS manual. Took it out today, wow a very good machine, very quick and well poised on the road, power delivery excellent and very sharp brakes. Well spec'd car, with Columbus unit. Seriously tempted now. They are going to get the diesel down from Garland for me next week to take a test drive in.

Listers Skoda Coventry have a petrol DSG estate

Popped in to Birchwood Eastbourne today to see if they had one in and couldn't see one. Asked a sales guy who said the vRS is not released yet so pointed out they were already available for test drives at other dealers. He then fessed up that they had one, Black Estate DSG but wasn't going to be in the showroom till mid-next week.

Will pop in and see what goodies it has.

I test drove it for you Tuesday. . It was good!

Jewsons of Oxford have a petrol DSG estate; their sister dealer, Ridgeway Skoda of Newbury, have a diesel manual estate, although they told me they may swap them over.  They're keen for me to try either, which I'll do next week.

I'm really interested to try the petrol manual, and Winchester (as above) are happy to oblige.

My nearest dealer, Parkview in Reading, has a vRS in the showroom but won't license it until 'sometime next month'.  How not to sell....

Mk3 Octavia vRS Estate tailpipe by lotus-gt, on Flickr

Only thing i didn't like, tailpipes look a bit naff (two exit a great look, but not when you can see the "real" pipe underneath and it's not linked up!) plus i think that the 18"s look a little lost in the arches. Other than that - very nice.
