Amundsen Map Update

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am having problems like others mention here, My system say's there is an error with the SD card (a transcend 16 gb) when trying to update my Amundsen+ system. I never got a Skoda card with mine as the maps are on the unit.

Can somebody with a Skoda card please look at the properties of their card & see how it is formatted, & if there is a name for the card, as that's the only reason I can think why the head unit will not see it or give an error.

My root directory is "Markets"

There is also a Dbinfo file with the following info

PartNumber1="-----------"
PartNumber2="5G0919866E "
PartNumber3="5E0919866E "
PartNumber4="5F0919866E "
PartNumber="-----------"
ApplicationSoftwareVersionNumber="0034"
SystemName=" ECE 2013/14 "

Is this how other peoples card look??.

Thanks in Advance.. Alex.

  • Equally the most expensive is rarely best value. The trick is to find the right product that gives the features and reliability that you want at the right price. Bit like the Octavia...

  • Incorrect!!!The Amundsen does play video! I have connected my iphone via the mitsumi connector and watched all the videos and films through the Amundsen. They were not all purchased films/video either

I think you need the original SD card - others don't work

You HAVE to use the original Skoda Nav SD card.

I think the only way it knows it's the Skoda SD card is the size of the card.  7.58GB which is a unique size.

That'll just be a 8gb card

In the manual it states:

"Card has been damaged or lost

If the SD memory card with the navigation data has been damaged or lost, a new card can be obtained from SŠKODA original accessories. The navigation data can be loaded only on the original card."

As Sir Winston Churchill once said "I only believe statistics that I have manipulated myself".

@ gadgetman - people buy Mac Books which are more expensive than other lap tops simply because they want the best. In the same way people buy Miele washing machines rather than Candy. Cheapest price is seldom best value.

You for one have taken Apple's bate, that's for sure :D Open up a Mac book and look at the components. Then do the same with - let's say an Asus - and behold: The Asus has superior components, and the casing isn't inferior to the Apple. Then tell me why I should pay 30-40% more for the Apple? Because their marketing departement says so, or because "everyone else" have one?

Does anyone know what the story is with updates?

I thought you were allowed 3, the sales rep said only 1 update and I've looked on the skoda site and it say 3 years.

Anyone know?

Haven't done an update yet, my understanding is three updates.

Haven't done an update yet, my understanding is three updates.

That what I was originally thinking but the Skoda UK website says:

"Free Sat Nav updates

If you currently own a ŠKODA Octavia model that is less than 3 years old you are entitled to free Sat Nav updates. For more information about how to download these updates, please click here."

I downloaded the latest maps last night and I didn't have to register or log in or anything, how do they know how old your car is or how many updates you've done?

And then I turn on the Asus and...... Oh bugger it runs Windows :-(

But let's not get into the apple/PC debate here.........

And 2 out of 3 MacBooks I see nowadays run Windows ...........
