Aftermarket stereo

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am about to fit a Kenwood head unit to replace cassette player. I recently started using Vcds lite to diagnose a few probs and read that some aftermarket stereos can damage usb port. Does anyone know what actually causes this, is it the stereo or the way it has been wired? I have read a few topics on it but nobody says what causes this to happen.

cheers

Jup.............from my post here.....linky..

8d/pin3 = Grey cable with White stripe = VAG diagnostics through EOBD socket (DO NOT USE WITH NON OEM as 12v and can muck up your new head unit, especially if a diagnostic tool is connected!!! So disconnect from plug or cut and seal live end of wire) (This according to ISO is for the reversing light signal)
