Good deal?

Featured Replies

RO0, have you decided if you're going ahead with the deal, seeing as Friday (today) is D-day?!?  That's a cracking deal that you've been offered.  If you hand the car back after 3.5 years, it roughly works out as £3,251/year, which is cracking in my book.  Was your quote based on estate or hatchback and did you specify any optional equipment?  If you don't go ahead with that deal, put your dealer in touch with me and i'll take them up on their offer.

Cheers

Carfile put me in touch with a dealers down south

vRS white, diesel estate manual

List price - £24390 with black pack and cruise control

Dealer down south - £23,198 still with 0% apr and servicing etc. he said that normally be able to get around 10%-12% discount but due to the 0% being heavily subsidised they can't get the usual discounts.

£285 a month on 42 months with 15k mileage and 2k down. (standard gfv of £9.5k)

I reckon you could get that level of discount at a local dealer with a bit of persuasion.

guess where I'm heading tomorrow with the carfile quote!

Booyaka, hope your local dealer matches the Carfile dealer. BTW, where do you get the standard gfv figure from? Is there a pcp calculator? I'd like to play about with the variables (ie term, mileage, spec, deposit) to see what works out best for me.

Cheers

I noticed the DTD price shot up today

GFV are from Skoda finance figures.

Basically on 15k mileage GFV after 36 months is approx £10.2k and after 42 months approx 9.5k. It's fairly easy to work out the rest when you know that as it's 0% apr.

Not sure on 10k as I am being tight on 15k, do around 17k a year.

All the dealers have the same quotes and none of them can change the GFV as this appears to be set my skoda finance.

Hi guys, whilst we're on the topic of individual PCP deals/quotes, what do you think of this deal I was offered today?

Vrs estate, diesel, manual, candy white with the following options:

- black styling pack

- cruise control

- winter pack

- sunset privacy glass

- rear side airbags

- crew protection assistant

- Bootliner

- spare wheel (space saver)

- colour maxi dot

On PCP 0%

OTR price = £25375

Deposit = £6152

£236.86 / month for 42 months for 15k miles per year although I do more like 19k miles (I'm fully aware of implications etc.)

GFV = £9511.20

Will use part of my part ex for deposit.

What do people think of this deal? Does it seem reasonable?

Opinions welcome on this please.

Cheers.

I'd say there is plenty of room to get that down a good bit.

I managed to get approx 4% off list price today at dealers when I ordered. so you should be able to get at least £1,000 off the list price.

What sort of discounts (if any) are people achieving?

Here's the quote I got (bearing in mind I was just after details and  wasn't pushing for a deal). I would push for a better deal (or a deal at all!) if I went for it though, just not sure how much to push.

vRS Estate TSi DSG

Metallic Paint

Columbus Navigation

Heated Washer Nozzle

Colour Maxi Dot

Registration/Delivery/VED

Price (full price) £27,610

Deposit -£3,000

17,000 miles per year

£432.96 over 37 months (not sure where the extra month came from!)

GFV = £9,022

Loved the car apart frpm the ride in town where it seems overly bumpy/bouncy. Must be getting old :D

[ETA - just seen the 4% discount in the post above!]

Yep sorry, I forgot to mention that I have been offered approx 13k for my vrs hatchback fl diesel so not bad price for that but yes, I reckon there's room for more discount. It works out I'll get approx 2.8% discount roughly when I take into account px price. Keep getting same old story that because of 0% ' there isn't much room for discount' and ' dealerships are taking the hit' hence reducing levels of discount available. I understand this but think, no, actually you could doña little bit more! Hence, I shall be gathering more quotes from around the country. Also if anyone can steer me towards a great deal, it would be greatly appreciated!

I just ordered on this deal

vRS diesel estate manual - black pack and cruise control, mudflaps and bootliner in Candy white.

15k mileage over 42 months

£2k deposit.

£295 a month. Original starting price from dealers was £317 a month, so in effect I got approx £22 a month @ 42 months discount - £924 which is approx 3.75% off list price.

I had a quote from another dealer via carfile @ £285 a month for the same car but that was way down south and delivery/pickup etc etc would have been a hassle so for £10 a month I was happy to give local dealer the business.

Used attached quote to get them to move, but local dealer was stunned and genuinely said he has no idea how they are doing it for that price!

Quote attached for those interested - that was on above car, same deal with black pack and cruise control (no boot liner or mudflaps)

Dealer was Rainworth Skoda - Steve Cantrell was the nice guy I spoke to.

I wonder why the excess mileage figure is so much more on your PDF? 7.2ppm instead of 4.4ppm quoted everywhere else.

Not going ahead with my deal. If anyone wants it contact Lookers Manchester

How come?

Reading this chain, I am maybe looking to swap the Fabia vRS for the Octavia vRS Hatch manual, but I want circa £ 3,000 of extras (columbus, sun roof etc) in a month or two (not quite ready yet to do the deal) - hopefully the 0% finance is still in place, dont want to do the balloon payment route.

Anyway would it be fair to say then 5% discounts of the cars price are the order of the day ?   Do people see this getting better in the next couple of months ?

Thoughts pleas.

pretty much 6 is a good deal at the moment, dealers are claiming they only get 6% of the money for themselves for the current 0% deal.

so 5% is a good deal.

If your lucky there are still a few, very few, confused dealers (like mine) that give you a bit more :)

How come?

Wasn't impressed with the interior quality

I went to my local dealer this morning and talked with the chap that I have dealt with for years, was all excited etc at being able to have a good look around etc and getting a good price for it, liked it, but felt the seat material was poor, loved the support on the seats etc, really good, but that material on it just felt cheap and tacky, and I dont want leather so wont pay extra for upgrade as I dont like a full leather interior.

So, got him to give me a quote, even with a crap trade in on my current vRS I would still be a bit better off per month than I am now, but for teh money I would be paying each month I asked for a price on a Golf GTD with DSG, immediate heavy discounting, which counters the 0% and payment the same as the Octavia on 0%, so for me I would seriously consider the Golf.

I have a small amount of negative equity on my current car which isnt helped by the crap trade in they want to give me, so if I was to change I would think I owuld have to play hardball on the PX price.

Food for thought overall.
