Sorry I just don't get the idea of an outdoor version with an off highway capable 4x4 drive system, that is otherwise not really equipped for anything more adventurous than a cruise down the Autobahn.

Tim,

That is no different to mine, basically, so I don't understand your comment.

Has there been any indication as to whether the Outdoor is going to have much of a price premium over the City for a given power-train?

it should be actually cheaper, because will be less luxurious right?

If you look at the link posted earlier there seems to be very little difference, interiorwise, and only less coloured plastic on the outside of the Outdoor, so how do you think the Outdoor is less luxurious?

Neither of them have the ultimate luxury......big round fog-lights

Well you must admit 225/50 R17 W tyres designed for high speed driving on a smooth tarmac road, are not necessarily the ideal footwear for a broken rural road or dirt track etc. O.K the Yeti can manage in most cases with these, particularly in the hands of someone like yourself but that's not the point, for me anyway.

If your going to make a city version and an outdoor alternative, then give the city version the bling and the outdoor practical features, such as H/T tyres, RRP, HHC, amundsen nav etc.

Might as well call the two new offerings City Mayfair and City Battersea power station

IMHO obviously,

Tim, for what it needs to do the Yeti 4x4, in either format is as capable as it needs to be. Yes the "Outdoor" might not have the best tyres, and should be on 16" rims with All Terrain tyres, but to be honest very few owners are actually ever going to make use of any of the systems.

One thing I would heartily disagree with you over is the sat nav. None of the current VAG in-car sat nav systems are suitable as they only show "roads". If you really want a truelly off-road friendly system, then in the UK it would have to be loaded with OS maps of atleast 1:50000 scale (OS Landranger).

Love the accent...Skoda Yitty. :giggle:

Yes, I noticed that! I noticed that there is a push button start, what's the thinking behind that? My dad's first car, a 1958 Morris 1000 had one. Going back in time with that idea.

My wife's first car, second hand, was a mini with a push button on the 'floor'. After a few weeks it would not start, turned out the button could not be depressed. The previous owner must have used the car following there wedding as the base was full of compressed confetti!

It is the KESSY system.  I posted in post 96 above what the KESSY does and how it works.

That must be the indoor Yeti, yes? (In all sorts of senses, but I mean as opposed to the Outdoor one.)

No, it's the "Outdoor". :giggle:

The lower grill and surround are quite different.

See post #361 in this topic.

The new grill and main lights are not to bad from the front but those fogs and odd strip of plastic above are just so unfinished, untidy and cheap looking. Quick fix would be to 'Monte' the fogs and get rid of those odd imitation Lego slats in the black trim above.

OK, so the obtruding triangles are almost hidden in that view.

The Indoor/urban  lower grill doesn't have that silver horseshoe surround with the 3 black slots at the bottom.

It is also wider at the bottom, with Honeycomb(ish) grill ,rather than vertical slats.

This looked quite Evoque-ish from the front when I first glanced at it, quite like it.

Think they've done a reasonable job of modernising the Yeti and the changes make it look a bit wider too.

Interesting choice of words, as per the Autocar report on the demise of the Fabia VRs (in the next Fabia) they mention the Yeti is due a Monte Carlo version! ....

A Skoda Yeti rally car, now that is worth seeing :giggle:

but seriously a Fabia or Rapid Spaceback yes but a Yeti Monte Carlo

Though I still think my favourite is the new Jungle Green:

+1!

I think we ought to standardise the model nomenclature.  Working with what has already been suggested, lets settle on "Indoor" and "Rufty Tufty".

That's what I've been saying from the outset TP! They looked pronounced on the first CGI images due to the lighting but they are really very flat. I'm in Frankfurt right now but will only go to the show tomorrow.
