Apart from a 170 DSG what do you get that's really worth having wth the FL Yeti?

It looks to be all cosmetic. Whether it's a improvement is very debatable!

170DSG was available per-FL. The FL has a couple of extra toys like rear view camera (which is actually very useful if you've never seen one), But otherwise yes largely cosmetic.

Just picked up my pre-FL tonight and I must say that Harvey is looking resplendent in his pearly livery.

Representing the last of the Old Skool (good job my teenage daughters can't see this post  )

Not trying to be funny, but what on earth do you want a rear view camera for?

The rear parking sensors are very useful but I can't imagine why I'd want a camera

Had it on a hire i40 and it's pretty handy.  When you turn the wheel it shows you where you'll end up.  At first I found it handy, at the end of the day's hire I found it annoying as it locked out the touchscreen from lowering the radio volume to concentrate.

Very Marmite and easy to rely on IMO

Same here.

Just seen on another forum, that a fellow FL Yeti (outdoor) purchaser understands that FL "City" production will start wk 45, and "Outdoor" production will not start until wk 50. If true, that will mean at least another 1-2 month wait.

As far as I understand it, both the 'City' (who aptly named it this  :wonder: ) and Outdoor will go in to production on week 45 BUT the Outdoor SE 140 (manual and DSG) and Elegance 170 (manual and DSG) will go in to production from week 50.

Any further news I will keep it posted but it does look as though it's only the above that will be a month or so behind.

Can't see cliff edges (or even little ditches!) with parking sensors.

It is a facelift and not a new model incidentally.

Damn........trust me to have the SE 140 DSG (4x4) so another month or so to wait - I can see this being a March delivery now.

Thanks for the info Preston Motors.

Unlucky. On the plus side - 14 plate.

Anyone found out any more info about the sports seat option?

It lets you see what you've just hit without having to get out of the car.

Fred

Nick - sports seats are a £350 option - confirmed by my dealer.

Rear camera would be great for lining up the tow bar and the caravan!

Ouch. Did they give you any more details? What is the covering, do they still have adjustable lumbar support?

I'm guessing they are the same as http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/178581-yeti-sport-seats/ but with red leather in the Elegance?

What about steering wheel options?

I was just about to say that Graham.  With a light trailer this never bothered me since I could move it where I wanted it (even when fully loaded).  But now with a ton or so of woodchip and plastic to move about you need to reverse correctly to get things right, so I finally see the appeal of this reversing camera as well.   :giggle:

Not a problem if you have a Mover!

So maneuverable that even my wife can hitch up the caravan.  :hi:

Co-owner of our 'van has it on their Volvo.  :envy:

I tried to pursuade Sheila that we should fit one, but got the big "NO!!"

Graham, it's the best accessory I've ever bought. You need to be more persuasive! ;)

One of my neighbors has a radio controlled 4x4 model and is fond of operating it in the close outside our houses.  I'm very tempted when he is next  out there to bring the caravan out and flatten it and him.

I went into the dealer and finalised my order today. Gone with 17" Origami wheels (£0 option) and no other changes. It looks like the red leather sports seat option isn't available on the Elegance (it is in CZ) - thanks a bunch SUK. I specifically didn't specify the spare wheel as it robs too much space for our usage. Maybe I'll get a space saver in a bag for long trips.

Well done...  though it is MUCH cheaper to tick the spare wheel box and then take all that out to have a spare in a bag as you say.  Your insurance won't allow you to use a space saver I think...

Agree with Johann.

Alter your order to INCLUDE the spare wheel, then just take it and the fittings out.

Purchasing seperately is more than twice the price.

And the Yeti is not designed to use as thin space saver wheel so you risk invoking the wrath of both your Insurance, the Police and anyone else who feels so inclined.

Sorry Nick but I couldn't help noticing your signature and you've bought a Yeti

Or am I being slow and someone's already pointed this out :wonder:

Anyway agree with Johann and Graham, get the spare and take it out.

Hmm... Modify the signature or modify the Yeti. Decisions decisions :D .
