Well, we bought a Yeti first time round because it was the biggest Skoda that would fit in the garage.

So if buying in a year I'd certainly get a FL.

Problem, we ended up with the bug eyed original and like the fact it's a bit unique.

similarly, the bug eyes may have put people off buying an original, whereas now they may be more tempted by the FL

Indeed.

It is a bit odd looking I agree.

But once to get used to it you grow to like it and defend it.

Just like having a weird looking pet with a wonky eye I guess. :giggle:

It's nice to be different.

Poor Hyundai owners that had waited for their FL iX35 and hoping for more power...

Their top 179hp 2,0 4x4 diesel auto has just been ditched and replaced with a 134hp one.........................  So let's thank our lucky stars Škoda added the 170 DSG and did not detune the 140 DSG to a 110 (or something as bizarre as that).

Interesting that on the Chinese version (as posted in the other thread) they seem to have dropped the rectangular block the number plate is mounted on in the 3D model's nose below:

I wonder which we will get?

They both look crap in those pics.

It's nice to be different.

which is what you'll say to justify the cost of buying a Scimitar / Challenger / Warrior

I've tried blending in with various vehicles and failed.  So I gave up.

Did anyone see this very brief clip on You Tube -

Yes if you just scroll up to post #285.

Skoda Uk please note, the facelifted Hyundai ix35 goes on sale next month and Hyundai has reduced the entry level price compared to the outgoing version. It's a competitive market out there, don't price me out of it!!!!!

Another clip - possibly showing the 'Urban' ?

Looks like I'll have to buy my own side protection mouldings then...

One is Halogens and one Xenons?

Passed another Yeti last night on the way home; it was dark in a wooded area and we fleetingly passed going opposite ways round a sharp bend but even in these poor light conditions I knew it was a Yeti because of the high mounted round lights reflecting our headlights.

Unlikely it would have been so easily recognise the FL, unless I caught a glimpse of the 'saw tooth' bumper projections.

Lets hope they don't limit the engine/transmission options to specific City or Urban body types..

I would still want the Urban for the unpainted front/rear bumper and sills feature and retain the ability choose a petrol DSG for example. Too much to ask they might improve the ability to clean them properly on the F/L and cut down the use of peanut butter....Don't go there.

Having the Urban (unpainted plastic) version but no petrol DSG option would probably be a deal breaker

Need petrol and Auto for variety of reasons.

Ideally would like all engine/transmission options available on Urban and City but can we rely on Skoda UK giving this? As the 2 body variation vastly increase the possible combinations the downsize it they may be forced to limit the choice vastly too, I hope not as may have to look elsewhere.

And another YouTube clip - this one looks a bit more professionally done!

Good find.  Some observations:

  • Notice the KESSY start at the beginning of the video
  • and later the reversing camera (on an Amundsen)
  • So there is a block of plastic behind the Outdoor's front number plate (which I earlier queried since it was not visible on the Chinese Yeti FL)
  • That's an awful lot of body colour on the City version - too much I think especially in white
  • City version in white should really NOT have all silver roof rails - they completely disappear on that colour as does the nose and rear undertray thingies. (I can see owners of current black Yetis with silver rails flocking to their dealers to buy the front and back bits in silver though!)
  • I LOVE the new green colour of the Outdoor version
  • Both seem to have the same ride height (which look the same as we have now)
  • The front door window tinting is illegally dark I think (it matches the VERY dark rear window tints!)

Agreed - I think if the City look is the only option available for 2wd's, then a can of black paint might be in order! It might look better though for darker colours?

I'm not sure you've got that right. I think you will find that the City/Urban model will get everything painted, and the Outdoor will have the unpainted plastic.

Noticed that.

Personally, don't like the white City/Urban model, but do like the Muscavado Outdoor.

Don't mind the front at all. Yes it has lost some of the character but it isn't too bad.

Yes, I'd buy one!

That's not Muscovado - I also mistook it for that in the beginning.  It is the new "Jungle Green" colour.

Interesting vid, think unlike Johann I like the white city version best, still put off by the outdoors 'saw tooth' come Lego front bumper and fog light arrangement; city is much neater in this respect.
