I think I've got a Skoda problem!

Featured Replies

Excellent assortment there Leon.

I don't have a time line, but I am seriously impressed with the Fabia :)

That's a good addiction

Blue one top right looks mint!

Fabia Combi?

Well im in the same boat but not quite as many.

But in the last 10 years I have had 4 Octavias and now a Superb with a brief spell in a 1 series BMW.

Mk1 Octavia 1.9 TDi 90 Ambiente  ran to 80,000 miles.

Mk1 Octavia 1.9 TDi 130 Ambiente SE ran to 80,000 miles.

Mk 2 Octavia 1.9 TDi 105PD Ambienet ran to 80,000 miles.

(BMW 118D ES 2.0 Diesel ran to 100,000 miles)

MK2 Octavia 1.8 TSi Elegance ran to 100,000 miles

Now running a Superb 1.6 Greenline SE Twindoor currently on 44,000 miles

So in the past 10 years I have done upto date close on 385,000 in Skodas and I love em.

I just tried to make my own montage - spent almost an hour on it and ended up severely annoyed and threw it away!

It took a while to dig them all out, was surprised how good the MK1 still looks!

Yeah, that was my best project, vrs'ed it up with the interior, TT comps, Koni's dropped by 50/40mm and LCR splitter :)

Just made me look back at every single one of them. It was the Fabia I've been most proud of, all of them special though.

Wow thats a lot of miles!! I don't think I've hit that many, I'd say probably 150k in Skoda's?

Whats the 3.6 like on fuel same engine from passat r36 aint it be nice seeing that lump in an octavia rs

It doesn't count, you didn't own them all at the same time !!!

Nice montage, I do like that mk1 Fabia Estate in particular.

Now that is what you call a problem! :peek:

I'm lagging behind, I'm only on my second! Although I've now clocked up about 60k miles in Skodas since January '10. Both cars light years ahead of my first car (mk4 Fiesta, although admittedly the 1.25 16v engine was great, just the rest of the car was disappointing - specifically the ride and turning circle which was like a cruise ship).

Fabia VRS (silver)                  05-07

Octavia L&K (Midnight Blue)   07-13

Yeti  SE         (Cappuccino)     current

Oh and SWMBO now has a Citigo SE (red)

Octy Mk1 SLX TDI - Parents but drove it a lot
Mk1 Fabia vRS - Owned for 3 years
Mk2 Fabia vRS Estate - Owned for almost 2 years and already thinking of changing. Need something more involving. Will miss the practicality though.

Brother's first car was a Felicia

I'm a newbe by comparison.....

2011 Octy hatch 1.4 TSI SE+ 6,000 miles. Then

2012 Octy hatch vRS blackline 5,000 and counting....

Mine have been . . .

Superb comfort 1.9 tdi 2004

Superb elegance 2.0 tdi 2006

Superb elegance 2.0 tdi 2008

Superb elegance 2.0 tdi 2009

Fabia vRS 1.4 2010

Octavia vRS 2.0 tdi 2011 - daily runner

Fabia 1.4 tdi 2009 - fun weekend runner

Just 9 so far for me.

My Skoda timeline is as follows:

1. Mark I Octavia vRS 2001 / 51 plate in red. Owned for 6 months / 10K miles

2. Mark I Octavia vRS 2003 / 53 plate, again in red - the best colour!! Owned for 5 months / 8K miles

3. Mark II Octavia 1.8 TSi Ambiente, 2009 / 59 plate, in black - I'd gone to by a Mark II vRS, but this was 90% as fast, without all the associated bells / whistles (spoilers / big alloys / costly insurance etc). Owned for 1 year / 10K miles

4. Roomster 1.9 TDi, 2007 / 57 plate. Owned for 1 year / 10K miles - I had this Revo'd by the supplying dealer and surpised a few people!

5. Mark II Octavia 1.8 TSi 4x4, 2010 / 60 plate in white. Owned for 1 year / 10K miles - probably the most complete car I've owned - spacious, reasonably fast, reasonably cheap to run, comfortable and pretty much unstoppable in the snow.

6. Mark 1 Octavia 1.8T 20V 4x4 Elegance estate, 2002 / 52 plate in dynamic blue. Owned for nearly 2 years / 18K miles. This one's proved to be a keeper. Great in the snow, huge boot, faultlessly reliable and fast enough when needed (courtesy of Jabbasport  ).

7. Yeti 1.2 TSi SE 2009 / 59 plate in Muscovado. Owned for 1 year / 10K miles.Little engine struggled in big body.

8. Roomster 1.6 TDi SE+, in light blue. Dreadful car, hugely dissapointing compared to 1.9 TDi, but managed 10K over 11 months

9. Yeti Urban TDi 2012 / 12 plate in white. Currently 1 year / 20K miles

In between all these Skoda's I've also owned a 2007 CRV (noisey diff led to it being traded for the Roomster CR), an awful / worn out dog of a Toyota Avensis, various "people carriers" - Vauxhall Zafira (not great), Mazda Premacy (a good and very under rated car), Mazda 5 (great sliding doors, but awful dealer and inherent problems with rear suspension), a 2.0 Petrol Honda Accord SE (nice car, great engine) and a lovely Lexus GS300SE (which required £4.5K worth of warranty work in the first 6 months of ownership!!).

2008 to present, mk 2 Octy elegance. Job done.

Hoping to put an order in for my second next month!

1989 Skoda Rapid 136 - first car. Still own, countless engines, repairs, etc

2007 Skoda Octavia vRS - bought in 2011. Still own, 37k later

1995 Skoda Felicia 1.3 LXi - bought November 2012 blind off eBay. Went well but is/was tired. Now in process of breaking.

1997 Skoda Felicia 1.3L - May 2013. Great little bright green pea.

1990 Skoda Rapid 135 - last rear engined Skoda coupe produced in unique silver colour.

So, not yet managed to sell a Skoda. Brief spell in a horrid Garish not mentioned nor the 10 months behind the wheel of a 2000 Fiat Punto : great car.

First was the black estate, PD100 with a ganting yellow interior.

That got traded in against a brand new 1.2 60hp new Fabia base model. That got affectionately nicknamed Slob Ninja. Slow as slob, (almost..) as quiet as a Ninja. Oh, and the reg...

Got rid of that for a polo. Sold the polo and bought my Dads Octavia off him.

Traded that Octavia against my current vRS, seen side by side with my Octy on handover day.
