Reverse Lights (How Many?)

Featured Replies

Forgive me if this sounds stupid...

I was reversing out of a car parking spot the other day when a guy walking behind the car stopped me, came up to my window and said "one of your reverse lights is out mate"... I politely said thanks and carried on with my day...

Pretty sure it only has one but just wanted to check as couldn't find any information on how many they are suppose to have.

Cheers :)

If you have one white lense on the Passenger side and one red fog light lense on the Drivers side, then only one reversing light will illuminate.

Bought a UK tail light (got a left hand drive Fabia) and I will mod it so I can have two reverse lights. Stay tuned.

reminds me, I keep meaning to enable the other fog light on my MkI (which comes with two reverse lights as standard :giggle: )

Great cheers guys :) just checked the back of my car and I have the same arrangement as sk4gw.

As for modifying the rear light 32KOFDATA - What will happen to the rear fog light if you replace it to have 2 reversing lights?

Will put the fog light in the same chamber as the reverse light - well that is the plan for now. Cutting, melting soldering will be needed, fun, fun, fun! :giggle:

Sounds fun, ill keep my eye out for your progress :)

Thanks again.

Someone on here did this maybe worth a search

For the fog lights in clear enclosures I would use high powered red LED's, preferably Cree as they are really bright.

The reason I say this is because when I was young and silly I had a Nova SR with clear rear lenses using red painted Hella bulbs, and they were being replaced every few weeks because of the paint burning off giving me PINK brake lights... The Police were not amused.

The fog light was also a red painted bulb and that, being on constantly while in use (rather than the on/off of brake lights), lasted 10 minuets before it cooked the red off the glass.

Seen that post when it first went up. Problem is he never shared any pics or at least write a guide on how to so even though nice to look at its useless. When I get mine made I will document just in case someone wants to try the same.
