Citigo Sport Secondhand Prices

Featured Replies

Skoda is a make that suffers from higher than average depreciation, because of the unfashionable brand.  Also there is such a flood of used and nearly new cars on the market that used prices have to be realistic to sell.  The Citigo Sport is badly overpriced as new.  Just look at new prices for other city cars such as the i10, C1 etc.  I paid £11,005 for my Elegance Greentech.  Only for the fact that I like the car so much I think I should have had my head felt for spending so much on a tiny car LOL.

PS don't get the white one.  I have seen all three and the white one looks like poo compared with either the Black or red.  Why oh why did they put red stripes on the white car?????

Wow, I think I've found the anti-me! I don't agree with pretty much all of that ^^^

There are one or two Skoda models which do depreciate quite quickly but look at the Yeti, I think there's barely one in the country under £10k and it's been on sale for years!

Don't agree the Citigo Sport is that badly overpriced. It's generally thought of as a much better car than the competitors you mention so is worth a premium. Besides, you and many others have bought one which kind of proves that point!

White is also my favourite colour for the Sport.

Each to their own :)

Personally I think the best colour for the sport is White! I would as that's what I picked :-) I went to see it yesterday and it looks fantastic in white. They also had a black sport 5dr, and in my opinion it didn't look anywhere near as good as the white or red sports!

Although now I have seen a sport in the flesh (I hadn't when i ordered!) I don't really like the main red stripe down the middle of the car, so the dealer will be removing it for me! But I will be keeping all the other stripes! I think I will be the only sport without the center stripe! Lol I like to be different!

Agree with Daveface and Rapidronnie above. Richard also has said everything that needs to be said.

I've ordered a new Citigo sport 3 door in white that I will be collecting from the dealers on Monday. My current car is black which does look great when it's just been washed and polished but doesn't stay that way for long so that left me with the choice of red or white.

The red does look really nice but I've had a lot of bad luck with red vehicles in the past, of both the 2 and 4 wheeled variety so I went for a white one and I'm sure I made the right choice having had a sneak preview of my new baby in the dealers compound

Hi RGKTSi

Be interested in your views after the test drive.

I think the facts here are pretty clear.

The Yeti is one of the slowest depreciating cars on the market - including 'prestige' and rare.

The up! is also one of the very best and surely miles ahead of any 'competitor' or comparably priced car except the Mii and Citigo. The Citigo will lose a fraction more but probably no more in pounds because of the lower purchase price.(WhatCar indicates about 45-49% Citigo and 50-53% up! retained after 3 yrs.)

There is surely nothing to worry about regarding depreciation.

However, there will always be 'bargains' around at letter-plate change-time (sorry about the grammar) and you might be able to take advantage BUT do be careful. I was offered a silly trade in price against one of those 'bargain' Citigo Sports - the dealer has to make their money back somehow, I guess - but it would have made sense with no trade-in and as a cash sale and no finance.

The 0% finance is not available nearly new and I don't think you can get the (cheap) extra warranty or free servicing unless you buy new. It's the total cost to change that matters.

Whatever Citigo model or deal you go for, I am sure you won't regret it.

PS Did the Groove up! have the orange dash too? I think (some) VW dealers will give a bigger discount on an up! than Skoda will give on a Citigo (he might want rid of the showroom car at the end of the month) or try CarBuyer for discounts on new orders.

PPS I think the red Citigo Sport looks great and I love the red seats and stitching, though there is a guy in here with a white SE with black stripes and awesome black alloys (though I'd like sunset glass and the sunroof with white). On the other hand, I think I am the only person who likes the ivory interior of the elegance and I do fancy the heated seats.... oh and the boot divider is available on the Sport.

Your not the only person who likes ivory interior.... I have ordered it on my white elegance :)

I agree that the Citigo is better than other city cars, and indeed that is why we bought one, but £11005 is a lot for a small car. At the moment you can get a brand new Nissan Juke SUV for £10 less.

It's not really an SUV if it's front wheel drive.

And they are horrible looking and not as good to drive either.

If it's more car for the money, Skoda have a promotion on the Fabia SE with the old tech engine.

£8,995 with a few options included.

Good point.

Even if you did class it as an SUV, how much is the SUV that is 'Best in class'?

I'll wager there's more practical room in a Citigo than a Juke. The back seats and doors especially. I seriously looked at the Juke before choosing my Fabia two years ago, but ruled it out as a realistic option with a new baby incoming. It's what I imagine climbing into a space capsule might be like. I think the Juke is what they call a crossover supermini, not really a SUV. You do get a good spec for your money at an attractive price though, but they do feel very plasticky. Yet again, I'll second what Richard wrote in post 33.

There are bargains to be had, maybe not a sport but keep looking.

I bagged from a main dealer: Citigo 60ps SE, on a 62 plate 5 months old at the time with 440 miles! For less than £7.5k. New it was £9,240.00 had metallic paint too!

At that price I did not care it was not a sport, which was what I was looking at.

I have to agree with Didescharlie about the lack of space in the Juke over the Citigo - you are paying a premium for the 'looks' (yes, honestly) not more space over the Micra chassis on which it is based.

You can easily spend 11k on a Micra - and the rest - but I think you will lose a lot more in depreciation. I actually had a look at a Micra for my mum because they were so much cheaper nearly new (not the only reason mum - sorry) but the ride was so brittle and the Citigo just so more fun to drive, it wasn't worth considering.

Thanks Masserator - love the spec you've chosen for your Citigo - please take pics of that white/ivory combo if it is possible for you and post your impressions when you take delivery.

Many thanks - Andy.

Interesting comments about the Micra. It's funny seeing a new shape one about, they look like a very big car these days, which is fine as all cars get bigger each model year, just unfortunate for Nissan with the name they gave it. Just imagine, give it a few more years and the Micra will be Focus sized with Nissan customers scratching their heads over the name.

Good point Didescharlie. I think the current Polo is bigger than the original Golf but if you call it Micra... Of course, if you call the entire brand MINI, then what happens when you build a bigger MINI and a 5 door and an SUV and ..... You just might look a little bit silly.

But seriously, cars are getting just too big. Bigger isn't always better! Just when the Americans are starting to learn that lesson, we can't get enough pick-ups, 4WD, SUV 'soft-roaders' ......

Of course, if you do happen to buy a 2 tonne Range Rover the size of a truck (no offence but they are seriously big nowadays) you can always have a diesel and add some 'energy recuperation' and call it an 'eco' model - then it becomes 'green' (or is that 'blue'?)

The original golf is very similar in size to the Fabia Mk 1, in fact they continued to build mk 1 Golfs in S. Africa (I think) only to modernise them had them fitted with the Fabia dash board.
