Sideskirts for my vrs

Featured Replies

After just buying myself a VRS from ebay, the seller made no mention of the damaged sill and i didn't notice till i got home,

I think that small skirts would be the best way to hide the damage, its not bad, but now i know its there its bugging me

i dont particularly like the ones on eBay for the car,

Would any others be a straight fit , Golf 5 door or any others?

Did you check the car on them 'my reg check' thingy'm'bobbys, If its got sill damage your best off checking as it could of been in a bump and he's not said anything - that being the case (which I hope it isn't) my size 8 would be through his door.

What is the damage to the sills?  A lot of them get bent underneath due to poor jacking in tyre change places.

Yeah, looks like its been damaged due to poor jacking, just annoying now that i've noticed it,

Its happily not on the hpi list  :whew: , just more annoyed that it was another seller not telling the whole truth.I really don't think age related marks covers a dent in the wing (repairable at least) and damage to the sill (which i'll have to hide )

Most VAG cars are like that!

You can bend the lower edge back out if you like.  To be honest, the seller might never have looked that low down?  I don't know the car or the seller.

The dent in the wing should have been mentioned, or photographed, imho,

Got a pic?

Had a proper look in daylight, definitely looks like its scraped a small wall or such like

Coming off a high kerb is most likely.

Mine was bought with damage a lot worse than that and that's what the seller said had happened.

It really annoyed me at the start but now I have learned to not look at it. I couldn't justify fixing it at the age and price of the car, ( any body shops I went to said they would need to weld in the section. Without that they will never get the lines quite right.

That's not jacking damage! As above, dropped from a high kerb or maybe even forklift...

Think im gonna try a set from a golf, see if they fit, as long as they have a simple look , i think they would be fine, maybe from an r32

as above, that isn't jacking damage :-(

Let me know how you get on with the R32 set.

I couldn't put any of the octavia ones on as they are horrible looking IMO, nice and plain is what I'd go for too.

Love the ones on DSmithmobiles black VRS , but i think you would need the full look to get away with them

Still liking the r32 ones best, i prefer the simple look (just like my cars owner   )

heading out to the scrappy to see if i can find one to test fitment, after some research there's apparently no difference between the 3 and 5 door ,I'll see what i can find and let you know how i get on

Watch out for that sill lip too, looks like its starting to corrode
