Who has had build week come forward?

Featured Replies

Ordered the car 2 weeks ago, spoke to the dealer last week and was told provisional week 43.  Skoda UK said yesterday week 47. :(   I was hoping to have the car the 2nd or 3rd week of November, now looking more like Christmas time.  Still date isn't fixed yet so who knows...

I just hope they lock it down soon as really struggling not to add a load of extras I "don't need".

  • Ordered end of July and was told end of October. Build date moved to week37 and has now gone to status 20 so should be set for end of September delivery.

  • Ordered 23 July ( Octavia Hatch, candy white, Elegance with beige interior, wood trim ,DSG , 3 spoke steering wheel with paddle shift, & space saver spare wheel). Original build week 39, then chan

  • That would be the usual 11-12 weeks, that all the others who have been moaning, also got.   I'd give it week, then phone your dealer and ask for their order reference and the SLI (I believe) number.

I've ordered a white Octavia VRS TDi estate, DSG, cruise & a spare wheel, with the anthracite Gemini alloys.

Had a phone call from the dealer last week saying build week 41 (7th Oct). They said I should get it 2-3 weeks after then? Fingers crossed!! Can't wait!!

Oh it gets better - spoke to a 'case manager' at SUK today who says my build week has ALWAYS been week 40!! Oh yeah? How come an SUK person told me week 37 at the beginning of Sept?!! Idiots. Apparently they have spoken to my dealer and he has told them he had always told me 12 weeks from order. Oh really?! Funny how his paperwork says delivery september which would no way be 12 weeks!! For delivery in September the entire process of build and delivery to dealer and their checks would have to have taken no more than 10 weeks. Im waiting for dealer to call me today as SUK says he will be calling me. Hmm I wont hold my breath! Bunch of lying t0ssers the lot of them!!!! SO CROSS!!!!!  :wall:  :@  :wall:  :@  :wall:  :@

Can always cancel it & go to VW, Audi or Seat.

I've found very variable responses from Skoda UK Customer Services and I've had the impression that they make up information sometimes. Of course, I have nothing to back this up and actually make any accusations, it's just a gut feeling from some of the responses I've had.

Have considered cancelling it. But probably won't lol I like the car a lot and not a fan of the equivalent in other brands. Will see what dealer has to say for himself.

Think you got it bad? I just spoke to SUK, they tell me that despite the fact I ordered on 5th August, my order hasn't gone through correctly because my dealer was "over quota" whatever that means. This is despite the fact I have called SUK a week or so ago for an update.

The upshot is, I am no further into the process than if I had ordered today.

Jesus. Can imagine you're slightly p*#sed off. Is that on a hatch or estate (VRS?). Can you try & get a loan car out of your dealer as it was his **** up?

It's a Combi vRS DSG. Looks like other people who ordered on the same day and from same dealer will be getting their cars at the end of this month...

Put it this way, there have been finer moments during my 14 year relationship with Skoda...

I'd say that's worth an email to the CEO, you can get his details from the internet. I'm beginning to think that if more and more people complained directly to the CEO about the inconsistent information and poor ordering process, the more chance us as customers would have in getting them to improve things.

Mine should be being built as I type, so early October delivery. But then I read about cars sat in port for weeks, so I will not hold my breath

Will there be a customer questionnaire when I finally get delivery?

I cant believe how much of a delay some of you guys are dealing with. I put an order in for a Magic Black vRS DSG last week and was told at the time it could be ready for November.

However no one has actually given me any sort of build week or anything yet. How long after the order goes in should I wait before checking up on this??

Joke considering you ordered at the same time. Ask your dealer what he can do in terms or extras, money off or a loan car if you need one. It's his ****-up.

What have you ordered stewybenson? Hatch or estate?

I've got a provisional build week on my vRS hatch of 42, that will defintely change tho and Skoda UK told me to call back wk45 for an update.

I'd give it week, then phone your dealer and ask for their order reference and the SLI (I believe) number. This is useful if you contact SUK.

Ask for the order status code, I understand there are 3; 0 means to order has been accepted by the factory; 10 means the build week is allocated but provisional (i.e. the bits have been ordered for your car) ; 20 means the build week is confirmed (all the bits are available), this usually happens 1-2 weeks before build.

How often you phone your dealer depends on how patient you are, but if your dealer gives you a build week, always ask if that is confirm (status 20).

Hope this helps.

Hatch. I was completely unaware there could be a difference in order dates

I would be amazed if you were to get your hatch in November. They are beginning production of the hatches week 45 (1st week in Nov I believe) with demonstrators then starting on customer orders.

My dealer also told me the same thing re it being 12 weeks. It wasn't until I spoke to Skoda UK that I found out they aren't being built until November.

From what other people have said on here it is more likely to be going in to the new year.

Thats handy. Cheers

Thanks Dalelfc89 and Spitzie, will keep an eye on it. So far my wee fabia is doing the job still and will get the most out of it until then!

I wonder if that is because the dealer messed up?

Hehe, I was pretty angry earlier (though probably hid it well on here). but in the great scheme of things it's no big deal. First world problems :)

This does highlight problems in the Skoda supply chain, though. This is my 5th Skoda, but patience has been tested!
