Gemini Second hand price

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im looking to sell the wheels that are coming on my new car, someone i work with wants them but i dont know how much to sell them for. They are the 18 inch gemini wheels and will come with 225/40/18 tyres would think Dunlop Sport Maxx or Contisportcontact3's that will have max 15miles on them.

Iv looked at tyre prices and they are around £100 for same tyre.

What sort of price should i expect to sell them for?

I have a potential buyer so this is no attempt to sell on here.

Thanks

Rob

Honest answer, and I know you tend not to like any other answer than the one you want. but here goes. Why not keep them for a few weeks after your car arrives, at least you can then go back to them and sell the 19" wheels if you don't like the ride/looks/whatever? Just sell whichever wheels you like the least?

I guess the price would be ITRO £750 for the Geminis complete with tyres?

To start with you don't know what I'm like at all.

Haha I'm not getting in to this again. I'm a young lad obviously young lads are not practical. I'd much rather have the car looking nice that doesn't have the gemini's which in my opinion are too small for the car and i don't like the look of the car with them and the large ish tyre wall, so I'm happy to get rid and recoup some money back.

I was thinking along the lines of £800 with the tyres. Iv been told £800 maybe too reasonable on another forum but tbh I'm not sure at all.

Fair enough, just a thought. I guess they will be worth whatever you can get for them, £750 - £800 seems approximately right, but hard to tell.

I bought the car based on those wheel so budgeted for the 19's and the car. The 18's were then surplus but if i can recoup some back then its a bonus.

Ill start with £800 i think and see what he says as he really wants them for his a4.

How much do they weigh ?

LOL

Thats more relevant to this thread.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Firstly do you have any bathroom scales? Lol.

My experience of selling 18" wheels and tyres after an upgrade is that they are never worth as much as what you think. Replacement wheel cost from the dealer is a factor. £600 is my guess, but don't shoot me or chase me across forum threads! Lol

Naivety is ace :)

Well iv been offered £800 + delivery. Think thats reasonable.

Obviously you can only sell them for what people are willing to pay but just wondered.

Yes indeed, Good Luck and fair play as (judging by some others reaction) not many will be going for the 19's so you will have something a bit different. It's the cost and arse ache of selling the wheels for me but I would go with 19's if it was a factory fit upgrade for £500.

Thank you. Yes well i wasn't overly fussed about selling the 18" but if someone offered the right money they could go as was going to pop some winter tyres on them.

We shall see, theres a good offer on the table so...

If we keep having snow down here in the south then I'd have some winter alloys as well - probably wintrac extreme tyres in a low profile.

Just to mention the Gemini's in anthracite, I saw a white vRS estate the other day with these wheels on and it looked great on the move. Unfortunately by the time my camera app had opened up the car was out of sight so no pics.

I can understand the OP's need for phat rims though - I was down with the kids once. Lol

down with the kids? Im 22 years old haha i am a kid.

I saw the gemini at goodwood and they looked alright just preferred the Xtreme :).

Personally I'd keep them and run them over the winter months, just for the fact of the salt n grit damage to the 19s (which look great btw).

But £800 is not a bad price.

Im 22 years old haha

Did I miss the joke somewhere?

Or is it the 'nervous young person's haha syndrome' again?

We shall see got a few weeks yet to decide. They are getting a good quality sealant on them which should protect them over the winter but still would be good to use 18" as if i was to slide in to curb or whatever in the snow then id be damaging wheel im not fussed about.

If it were for me, I'd keep the wheels for winter tires and sell the tires only at the 100 pounds/tire.

No need for that. I think Brimma was attempting to be humorous rather than making things personal.

Personally I would pop them into store and leave them there so when you come to trade in time, you may get a better price.

You know what some dealers are like and they like things to be clean and as near to standard stock as possible.

In the same way there was no need for his insulting comment, he is a prat and no other word for it :D

With the wheels becoming a optional extra soon the car will be stock, but i know what your saying.
