The wheels have definitely improved the appearance

  • But as long as he drives with his seat anything like upright then he won't look like a Hackney badboi... Presumably it's taxed insured and MOT'd and the same can't be said about the urban gangstas f

  • Beat me to it again Richard... LOLOL

Nice mods.. although it looks like many a 320d that try and impersonate a 330d M. You'll get bored and buy an s2000, E90s are sedate. I even got bored of my 231hp 330d .

You need better tyres on it than that, they will be lethal in the wet.

Have you used the tyres in question?

They are better than the bridgestone runflats they replaced. General is an american company owned by continental. These are not ditch finders. They are general altimax sports fyi and they are not exactly what id call cheap. Your looking at £100 a tyre. None of this £50 nankang malarchy

And at the end of the day it is a 320d it doesn't need super fandango tyres anyways.

And the 320d msport and 330d msport look EXACTLY the same so i do not see how i have impersonated a 330d msport?

The alloys are individual, there are no look at me m badges or 330d badges on it.

Are you an ex 6cyl owner that looks down on the 4cyl bmw's?

I don't quite understand the 320d hate from the VAG owners. In vag world if you bought the cr170 instead of the cr140 you made an awesome decision. Where as in reality the 320d has around the same power be it 163/177/184 bhp ?

You have an 330dM in the making... twin pipes, front spoiler, rear lip spoiler, lowered. Nothing wrong with that pal, just an observation!  Go for the bigger discs, and you're there though

We all have our own journals and do what we want

I far from hate the 320d, mum&dad have just bought a 59plate 320d M Sport on Saturday from Williams BMW. 58k miles, Silver, looks lush. Theyve had BMW's for over 20 years, I myself have owned 3 (over a 5 year period)

Still think the cassette keyfobs are a joke, as eventually it has a high chance of failing, mine did on my 330d and I had to get the car reprogrammed. Great car let down by a silly design on the fob. I miss the 330d for the 378lbft, but alas it was a bit big and heavy to be flinging around. (plus the Alternator was on the way out, I got rid)

£120 a tyre I believe they are, you do see lots of "claim to be" mid range tyres popping up that are sub divisions of the bigger manufacturers. Not seen them before, probably puitched against Ecstas and the like.

My 330d was shod with Nankang NS-2's (very embarrasing!), not my choice as they were on the car before I bought it. Ride quality excellent, wet braking and performance not so excellent. For ditchfinders, they actually weren't that bad. We cannot all afford PS-3's and the like, that's left for the company car driver or those intent on spending £1000 a year on rubber alone.

What sort of economy are you getting?

Not so great economy as its the earlier M47 engine but at least it doesnt have timing chain issues like the newer N47 2.0d varient

On a run its easy into the 50's

Combined its about 45mpg

Claimed mpg is 47 or 49 combined cant quite remember. Used to get 39/40 before i changed the thermostats

With the car looking as nice as it is id have to have the bumper 100% as it would drive me mad! lol.  Looks so much better than when it was standard.

M-Sport alcantara seats if it were me - not the same but I much prefer my half leather / half alcantara seats in the Superb.

I've got half leather/half alcantara in the S-Max and I prefer it to full leather. Won't get too hot in summer or too cold in winter!

Yep another alcantara fan here :)

Don't like full leather particularly; find I move about too much in the seat.

The best thing is the alcantara msport seats are generally £200-£250

Black full leather £500-£600

Red full leather £700-£800

Excellent progress, I used to have an e91 m sport wish I still had it at times. Highly recommend getting 'blackline' rear lights they transform the rear end.

Do you remove the calipers and discs for painting?

Nah i just did it in situe.

Rub down with a wire wheel in a battery drill.

Then just silver smooth hammerite and a paintbrush and a dabbling technique (so you don't get brush marks) looks pretty good imo

Traded it in!

Had it too long

For another 320d. Not as wheelbarrow spec, this ones auto with cruise and an SE. Only got 40k so should last a while (in theory / until i get bored)

Traded my bobby basic ES 320d in for a slightly less bobby basic SE

Cars are essentially the same however i have went manual to auto (new job forces commute in heavy traffic) and the SE has normal SE extras along with cruise control which will come in handy

Current manual 320d is nearing 90k and im worried slighty about the turbo and my flywheel has been rattling for a good 10k miles now (looking at a 1k bill) new car also has a nice low 40k miles and comes with 2 years warranty (bmw auc)

New car is a nicer colour imo (i now no longer have to say my car is blue/green/silver)

As part of the deal i get to keep my alloys and bmw performance grille. Will also be removing my msport suspension before trade in.

So new car will essentially look like the old one with the exception of the m3 rep bumper (which some may be happy about anyways lol)

Anyhow the old

And the new (soon to look like the old)

Nice car. How long before the modding begins?

Well i am retaining my alloys and black kidney grilles.

Along with black boot lip spoiler.

Also retaining my msport suspension so in theory the modding has already started! Only thing i wont be retaining is my m3 rep bumper which im slightly miffed at :(

Where'd you get the lip spoiler from Jase? Mine could really do with one!

Where'd you get the lip spoiler from Jase? Mine could really do with one!

Company on ebay called bc.moto if i recall correctly! Came from thailand and you can get it painted to your colour if you want

Thought m3's had the small boot spoiler as standard? The one i have is an m3 one (small) or if you want you can get the performance edition one (larger)

Lots of ppl have them over on e90post and are chuffed with them

Your looking at £50 for an m3 or £100 for a performance one

Ah sorry, thought yours was a performance one!

Yes it does have the small lip but can't help but feel the performance one would look a bit more purposeful combined with carbon front splitter.

Cheers, look forward to see the new motors transformation!

Xmas bargain of the century for £100 only :o

Got rid of the crappy non sport SE seats in favour of some 2012 SE sport seats in fabric.

Pretty rare these seats id say. Never seem a set before... Ever

Difference is massive... I actually get held when i go round a bend now

Look well. Didn't actually know they did that design in full fabric! Thought it was half-leather/full leather only...
