Octavia Hatch LED tail lights - now fitted

Featured Replies

I might keep the LED tail lights for the Superb Rob, once you've finished with the Octavia ones fixing mine will be a doddle  :D

It has been documented on here before the differences between the standard lights on the hatch and estate.

I can't remember which way round it was but one used 21W single filament bulbs for the brake/tail and fog/tail functions (2008 estate I think), the other used 21W/4W twin filament bulbs (2007 hatchback).

I wonder now then after reading your post if the hatchback with the twin filament bulbs also utilised only the 21W filament like yours does.

Just checked the WD for MY05, MY07 and MY13 Octavia's and you're correct, the hatches have dual filament bulbs and estates have single filament bulbs.

The hatches all seem to have the disconnected filaments on the brake and fog bulbs. No idea why they would do it though ;)

Had a chance to take a couple of quick shots at the side of a pre-FL vRS tonight. Turns out I'm rubbish at taking pictures of lights using a smart phone, still it gives you an idea.

Two of the tail lights only and the one of the brakes/tail lights. Tails are still at ~35% where as without the coding they would have been 100% in xpowers case.

They look brill Rob, as they should have left the factory.

I can see an opportunity here, buy in bulk, fix them for use in the UK and sell, sell, sell! I have a feeling you'd have no problems finding buyers!
