Road trip looks fantastic Richard, Something I'd like to do in the kit if it's ever reliable enough. How was the Transfagarasan?.. was it as good as clarkson et al say?

Yes the Transfagarasan Highway was amazing, preferred it to the Stelvio Pass as it's more flowing not so many long periods of harpins.

The Transalpina was also a very good road and needs to be done if you are in Romania.

 

The smaller local roads can be pretty rough though, so their new Euro Highways are the way to cover distance quickly as they are very good quality.

 

I have to say, of all the countries we've visited I really liked Romania and would certainly go back.

Poor in the countryside but the cities are vibrant, with a lot of history and very friendly.

And the scenery is amazing.

Looks like an epic road trip this year. Gutted I missed out. The roads look superb

Car was great, as hoped.

The train is from Dusseldorf in Germany to Vienna in Austria.  Overnight service and saves 600 miles driving while you sleep.

It's been a while since I brought this up to date, but safe to say while some cars are on here, the GT-R bug has bitten over the last couple of years and this needs updating for those people that like a bit of GT-R content.

 

I'm now up to eleven R34 GT-Rs, with ten of the thirteen different colours. (if you exclude the singe car somewhere was painted a different shade of pearl white to the other ones)

I am missing a Midnight Purple 2, but have a 3.  Plus two of the three silver colours of which I am not a huge fan, never have been into silver cars.

The plan was never to go over ten, but a great deal came up last month so a UK spec silver car arrived soon after...

 

The collection includes:

3 tuning house demo cars.

A NUR, in the NUR only Millenium Jade (1 of 300 in this colour)

An M spec, in the M spec only Silica Breath (1 of 131 in this colour)

A Midnight Purple 3 (1 of 198)

A Lightning Yellow (1 of 68 in this colour)

An original UK spec (1 of 100 sold new in the UK)

 

Anyway, a few pictures.

The newest arrival, UK from new V spec.  Tuned subtly to 600bhp.

 

Lighting yellow after a detail by Gleam Machine who I've used since I had my 2009 mk1 Fabia VRS seven years ago.

Almost OEM car with stage one tune that just drives lovely.

 

Millenium Jade NUR, also after some attention from Rob at Gleam Machine.

 

The OEM M spec, standard from it's airbox right through to it's exhaust. (which is rare).

Only Japanese model to ever come with OEM leather.

 

 

So that's what I've been up to GT-R related.

Still got my R32 GT-R I've had since October 2013 as well.  Possibly the longest I've ever owned any car that, have my Skoda Yeti for about 4 years.

What a collection. Lovely!

The "lightning yellow" car pops even more than the Bayside Blue one: I think I feel another model kit coming on.

Not really, I never wanted as many as I have.  But sometimes a deal pops up and it's too good to turn down!

Recently I've gone more for non GT-Rs, just picking up a few other 1990s Jap cars.  They did make some cracking things in the 1990s and just after.

Hidden in the garage is an OEM NSX, a nice Scoob, Evo and a few other things including an Autozam AZ-1 which is quite simply an awesome little car.  One of the best fun per pound cars I've ever had.

Thanks Charlie.  Yes what a trip that was!

2,200 miles across Europe in a 20+ year old car running over 600bhp.  Simply amazing.

Well I figured this was a GT-R thread Mike.

There are a few other things tucked away.  You already guessed what the new FG machine is!  ( I just didn't answer as would have spoiled the game!)

@BossFox - OK Richard, agreed about this being a Gojira thread; How about a "your garage" thread for all the non-Skyline and and non-Skoda stuff then? My suggestion but your decision either way.

Hi Ken,

 

Maybe a good idea but I've always been a little concerned about coming across in a "my one is bigger than your one" kind of way.  It's not really me.

I've got a few interesting arrivals coming over in the run up to August so might do something then.

Is the AZ-1 the little gullwing Mazda kei car???   I seem to remember a spate of those coming out (cappuccino, beat etc and always fancied one for a laugh...

It is, yes.  Such an amazing car!

I've got the MazdaSpeed version with strut braces, and a rear LSD.  Proper mid engine car that weighs about 620kg.

Sold a few, tried not to buy a few.   I'll do an update in May when the number has settled a bit!
