Things on the GT-R front have been a bit crazy lately, so I thought it might be a good idea to bring this up to date.

Partly to share the lunacy, partly to talk myself out of buying another GT-R...

 

My red R32 is still a great car.

It still wasn't perfect after 3 years (yes, I've owned a car for three years in one go!) but pretty much there.

Just sorting a few mapping issues and a random cutting out a tickover that seemed to be a defective coil pack which took ages and a great auto electrician to diagnose.

 

It does like a drink on a track day though...

 

 

Still have the blue R34 and the ATTKD demo red R34, but recently took possession of a Hosaka Tuning Factory R34.

The Hosaka car is like a nice blend of ATTKD and normal.

Blisteringly fast with 650bhp, but it can put all that power down really well.

A really special car to drive.

 

All was well...  happy with the cars and two cars on the way from Japan for the new year that were well priced considering the ever rising Skyline GT-R prices (R34s in particular!).

These are currently on a boat somewhere...

 

800bhp Bayside R34 and a nice Midnight Purple 3.

 

 

So clearly it had turned into a bit of an obsession and I was running out of space in the unit.

Then this came up at the right price (far less than the build cost over last 2 years) from a GTROC member I know.

And I suddenly has another R32 as well.

Nice RB28 boosting early and almost immaculate as it's been stripped down inside and out, treated, protected and lots of bits power coated.

Add in LSDs and various other nice parts including chassis bracing and it's quite a toy, just a bit slower at the top end than my current (Red) R32.

 

 

 

 

 

So yeah...

 

 

The hunt for a bigger unit has begun, because when the two R34s on the way from Japan arrive I am stuffed for somewhere to put them.

Can anyone explain why "giving people marks out of 10 for vapourising tyres" is considered to be a sport?

 

{mild o/t} I have no issues with marks for part or all of a sport as long as ordinary people can understand the marking (eg diving or ski-jumping). {/end}

It seems to have been modified slightly, raised suspension, new wheels, off road tyres, one-off body kit, oversized exhaust and, if I'm being honest, a slightly agricultural front splitter.

 

Judging by the lights on the roof it has been used as a pace car in the past. Was this another Japanese import or a barn find?

Torque figures are through the roof none the less .

Blue one isn't by any chance on a 16 plate and screaming down the M11 on Monday night was it? If it did, sounded wonderful and looked so much better with a BMW trying to keep up with it.

No, they stopped making the R34 GT-R around 14 or 15 years ago.

Probably the newer big one.

I was gonna say, if it was on a 16-plate something's gone terribly wrong with the import and registration process!

No it couldn't, because the one thing you can not do is put a so-called private plate on a car that was first registered (anywhere) before the first date that the plate could have been issued.
