    just out of interest, what's the paint warranty? If it's out of warranty or not reported within warranty, SUK may just send you a letter with 'off' at the end>

    Flat it, compound it, and add a rattle can of lacquer? Probably cost you a tenner all in. Not bad going for an 11 year old car.

I had mine resprayed last year at 5 years old.  The only real blemish on an otherwise very well put-together car.

Looks to me like 2004 was the worst year to get your car. Almost half of the cars are from this year.

So any news on this?

Sorry haven't moved forward with this yet. Was waiting for the list to slow in its growth, plus I have shedloads on personally. Will get on drafting something soon.

After my previous contact with Skoda ( see post #68 ) I have with the help of another member,Matt, sourced a guy in Manchester that will do the job for £60 - mine is in on Tues 5th Nov - will submit my review etc later

Well Thisday, if it helps I might be able to spare some time tonight, other half is going out so I won't be asked to do stupid things like watch TV or 'help' with dinner etc. So I might start to draft something and PM you :)

    Just collected my car from the paint shop where the spoiler has been done - awesome job - prepare, 3 coats plastic primer , paint and lacquer, great price  - the shop is in Manchester/Salford - anyone want the details please PM me -

    Well I contacted SKODA....as to no surprise I got a polite no chance.

     

    it was stated that 'Your vehicle is over the maximum age for support' age as one reason for the no, the other being 'if there was a problem with the painting/lacquer process it would be a much wider issue'.

     

    I responded asking about those you with younger cars and it was basically ignored. Therefore you may want to investigate this further yourselves. The email address is [email protected] and I was emailed by Jane Townsley, Customer Relations Manager (mods let me know if this should be removed).

     

    If you all send emails perhaps they might offer something to you? Probably not, but if you don't try...you don't get.

    This has now been addressed 100's of times - Skoda will quote an excessive amount to do the job ( mine was approx £400 ) then offer you a discount according to their perception of your loyalty to the brand - eg how many skodas owned, how long for, do you use main dealer for service etc - my offer was 20% -

     

    Just bit the bullet here and get it done yourself for about £100 - salford vehicle spray shop did mine and it was excellent.

    pick a week window, a semi standard email complaint sent to the email address listed and bbc watchdog with photo's attached and see if there is a response ?

    Just had my done by a body shop :/ I'd give you the price but the added it for free on to the work I had it in for, good luck everybody as it isn't good enough really!

    For the record mine started a few months ago - top right corner - it's now 3/4 peeled.  07 (SE)

    Your lucky you got so long out of it. Mine did it after 4 years and claybank dealership fobbed me off...

    Mine is also very peeled been to the dealer and had the whole tear of the car resprayed under warranty but completely avoided the spoiler but was quoted £70 to have it done next months purchase [emoji4]

    Fabia VRS June 2005, paint cracked in first 6 months, had free respray c/o Skoda dealership, no problem since..

    07 SE, happened to mine too. Couldn't be arsed with complaining and waiting so got a mobile bodywork chap to sand it and spray it in situ.

    £100, job done. Also left me with a pot of leftover paint to do my stone chips with.

    I'm going to speak to another dealership to see what they say. I called Skoda UK and they said it's up to the dealer and not them...
