    just out of interest, what's the paint warranty? If it's out of warranty or not reported within warranty, SUK may just send you a letter with 'off' at the end>

    Flat it, compound it, and add a rattle can of lacquer? Probably cost you a tenner all in. Not bad going for an 11 year old car.

I took my case to Skoda 2 weeks ago - they have come up with a quote for £400 and offered a 30% goodwill gesture making the price to me £280 - far too expensive - 

Skoda goodwill formula looks at things like how many Skodas have you owned, have they been main dealer serviced etc

    Problem I see, is alone on here there are 350 07 SE registered out of the 1000 available, only seven of us have raised a complaint

    Next out of the thousands of Fabias out there, only 33 have registered a complaint

     

    Skoda states the ten year paint warranty is just on metal not plastic or fibre, and they try their very hardest to get out of that warranty too (must have been stone chip sir)

     

    I hope they do take notice and realise how cheap it would be to satisfy the few Briskodans that can spread the word of the quality, rather than un satisfaction

    Even if Skoda listen and do offer to pay a percentage of the cost, the main dealer cost to sort it out will still be more expensive then what an independent body shop would charge for doing the job.

    Every SE which I went to view suffered from the same issue, there is no escaping! This data is better than nothing although it will only obviously cover Briskoda members who are active on the forum.

    To tie in with my other thread -

     

    Skoda kindly offered a 30% off goodwill gesture to get my done - the downside was the quote to do the spoiler was almost £400 making my contribution around £270 - I didn't find out where the car was going to go to for the work but I bet if you called them direct the job wouldn't be £400 - would appear to me that the goodwill gesture is a paper offer only -

    Lacquer on mine hasn't failed yet, but surely on borrowed time. It's pretty faded, given up polishing it usually at it lasts a week at best. 

    Been tempted just to wrap it in some of the red vinyl lying about from the Celica. Wouldnt be perfect, but better than pink.

    Somebody had already had a go at mine when i got the car,had paint & laquer over the original & peeling laquer.

     

    I rubbed it down & sprayed it gloss black with a spray can car's black so it looks ok,didn't bother with Skoda as i couldn't see that going anywhere also not paying £150 for a respray on a panel that size.

    In the process of selling mine and just had the spoiler sorted. Lacquer was coming off in sheets!! Disappointing....
