Error code

Featured Replies

On the display screen I have a fault code 'Key Battery'

Everybody give me advise on a suitable repair?

Would this be covered under warranty as the car is 15 months old

Thanks

I think you need to change the battery in the key???

Bang on jonro2009, the clue is in the error code Rogie.

This ain't going to be a warranty repair, more like a £2 CR02 cell battery.

Maybe even half the price in Poundland!

Maybe even 2 for a £1,

or like i have bought, a full set of about 32 batteries with 4 rows of 8 different sizes for £1, that never fit anything i try to put them in.

and (having had a few of these bargain packs) don't last 5 minutes either.  Pay the extra, get Duracell or something - even available in Tesco these days in the common sizes.

I paid £1.99 in Tesco filling station.... 8 months later and still going

Cheap ones for my digital vernier lasted less than a day.

Duracells still going 12 months later.

You get what you pay for - there's a reason the cheap ones are so cheap.

I thought (like remote control batteries :P) it was impossible to wear out a keyfob?! lol...

all batteries wear out eventually! even the rechargeable batteries fitted in BMW keys die! problem with that is the BMW remote cases are sealed so you have to cut them open to solder a new battery on

Problem with BMW keys are that they fit BMW and in turn enable BMW drivers :D

Yeah, the problem is they work in the first place :)

that can be said for a lot of VAG as well. Lost count of how many times i've been on the motorway & i've had somebody in an Audi or VW sit on my rear bumper trying to get me to move over when i'm doing the same speed has the traffic in front of me. Then when the road in front has cleared i do move over they're almost alongside you when you're still moving & halfway across the lanes Then there's all the younger generations buying Golf GT TDi's that are flying around like idiots. I have to say though i can't say as i remember any of these VAG morons being in a Skoda :)
