Its recomended that you do, there wont be any problems if you dont, but you alredy have to remove the old belt to change the pump, and the belt isnt that expensive, so you might change that while you are at it, so you dont pay twice for the same job.

Oh and and I ment serpentine belt, your engine has a timing chain and not timing belt, sorry for mesleading you.

Thanks a lott Mctruck for your kind advice regarding my problem.

Definitely change timing belt, it has been contaminated. My water pump went at 48K, dealer only wanted to changed pump but my mechanic refused to do the work unless the timing belt was changed also. Warranty covered me lucky enough

Guys why should we change the whole Water pump with the housing if only the water pump is damaged. Wont it work if we only change the pump instead of the full housing?? Can i change only the water pump or the full unit(with the plastic housing)?? And Thats the condition of my water pump.

Guys i am facing a wierd problem with my driver side power window as its making some noise when its operated. U can hear the noise in the video attached. Can u please help me with a solution or some help regarding it. Is there anything which is obstructing the power window mechanism??

  • 2 weeks later...

@SuperbRaj09 Thats the sound of the power window mechanism failing. The cable lines gets tangled on the electric motor and then window wont go up or down at some point. Replace the whole mechanism as soon as possible, it costs arround 70€. Dont ask me how I know, the same thing happened on my sisters Superb.

I bought  my second superb today.  the sexy black Elegance estate..   its very  nice..    Next week I will get it licensed and plated as a cab and then I will have to let my older Greenline go...   Bless her, she has been a good cab and has now got 276 500   miles on her and still runs like a swiss watch,   one of my colleagues is having her and I expect he will get the old lady up to 400k..

This is Gerald aka “The Hearse”. I’ve had him a week and he’s gotten new boots (Audi, sorry) and a cut and polish. Tint to come. Second Skoda I’ve owned after an Octavia RS wagon. I’m enjoying the larger car after a Clio RS, which was a cracking fun car.

Nothing wrong with a black Skoda on Audi wheels as my Mk3 has them also. Welcome to Briskoda to you and the hearse.:hi:

The old, worn badge couldn't do the car justice. Because he's my good guy in disguise, always there when I need him but will kick my ass when I'm not doing what I should be doing. 🤗

First time owning a skoda from the usual Audi or bmw estates.

My bmw was a bag of spanners and I just wanted rid it was a never ending problem of repairs. I've only had my superb for about 2 months and I love it. Ticks all the boxes

I am waiting on lowering ebaich 30mm springs to arrive just to take the harsh look of it being on stilts off and a detachable towbar to be fitted and I will probably be done tinkering with the car..... Unless anyone else has any suggestions

Well I got to do what I love to do and clean the car just to get rid of as much of the surface issues on the paint. A night going over it with the da polisher and sealing with some bild hamber wax adds some great hydrophobic ability

That looks really smart, I love the wheels. 30mm lower will make all the difference, post some pics when it's done.

I will get a pic of it once I get it lowered I really just want a factory look maybe slightly more sporty than the river crossing stilts its on atm..

Also anyone that has any interest it's a great company from northern Ireland ( my local) that does car cleaning products they are fantastic and form a great foundation when it comes to cleaning my cars.

And when in a rush I just get his hybrid product on after a quick wash works wonders.

Sounds like a plug it kinda is as I think he deserves the praise for quality and price

But looking forward to seeing my superb a bit lower.

Also anyone any modifications hacks or additions I should be getting? My biggest gripe though is the cup holders are terrible for a travel mug!!!

Agreed on the cup holder size. Rubbish!

Mines a greenline so sits lower from factory (scroll up a few posts, its the blue one with 17" GT TDI wheels).

With it’s smaller 17” wheels from a 2020 Octavia and 225/50r17 tyres.

so much more refined than the 225/40r18 that were standard.

look at the difference in the sidewall!
no crashing over road imperfections now.

Looks fantastic

Can I ask what led bulbs you used for the mirrors etc?

Thanx @Walder

These from AliExpress, mind you you will have to adjust them slightly with a powertool to fit 100%, otherwise they don't fit perfectly. The edges need some minor work, nothing serious.

Other LED bulbs i used are these

The festoons i think where 39 mm wide, but not sure, i will need to check them out when i'm at home. These are only gonna work in the interior of the car ( roof lights ), the other you can use in the sunroof control dome, license plate, footwell lights, trunk lights and so one.

Wrapped the front grill, Xenon sprinklers and bumperstrip, gloss black, now i'm waiting on black Monte Carlo emblems, after the holidays my buddy is gonna wrap the window trim and remove the sidetrim 👌🏻
