Totally new to Skoda..........

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Driving a fair way on motorways each way on Monday 28th to drop off my Kia C'eed 2.0 Sport Estate & collect my new Superb Estate SE  2.0 140 manual in Rosso Brunello.........Weather forecast is really rubbish, but .....I'll cope!                      Is there anything drastic I should know before I drive the beast home?  I really hope it's a bit more comfortable than the Kia, which I also bought new, and it was only after a good while that I realised how uncomfortable the ride was - bit like a go-cart.    (Kia put a 2 litre engine in, 'Sport' badge on it, 17" wheels, stiffened the suspension, fancy alloy pedals, and ruined what is a bl**dy good car!   AND it has a 7 year warranty............).

Hello QoA  :hi:

If it's Mk1 Superb, then I'm afraid there is.  The 140 engine can be a lemon as it has a hex drive to the oil pump which can wear excessively and then fail.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it's worth rummaging around on here to find out more about the potential time bomb you might be getting.

Hi Gaz,         Sorry, It's a brand new  2013 one (All my savings gone now!)....................So hopefully not TOO bad?

Welcome to Briskoda

That sounds a nice car your getting

Enjoy :)

Damo

Welcome :) Sounds nice, make sure to get a few pics up when you get it!

Lucky Man - Brand new Superb, hope you didnt have to sell your soul as well

Might be a bit difficult getting any info on known issues with it, specially if it is the FL one, you will hopefully get some ideas about the engine given it is used across the range.

Hope you enjoy the car when you pick it up.

My bad - missed the 'also bought new' bit. Doh!

I sat in a new one at my local Skoda a couple of weeks ago, and thought 'yeah man!'.

But I'm not envious of you.......no sir.......not me,.......no way. :envy:

Look forward to seeing some pics.

No it was a C'eed not a Soul....

Welcome by the way. Good choice. Time to find another piggy bank, because you've broken that one.

Welcome.

Well, It sure was a bad day yesterday to do the deal!......High winds, heavy rain, busy motorways, granddaughter sitting, but all went well..............

Drove the Superb home a little nervously, with SWMBO & said child on board, but really enjoyed it ! (So did they!)  Much quieter than the C'eed, and much nicer ride, despite having same size wheels/tyres.........and 200 litres more space for rubbish with the seats folded.

Nice sparkling new car is now covered in spray marks, & will give it a loving wash before posting pics.         I think the rosso brunello is just a tad too dark, but really great ion the sunshine between the showers.

Not had time to do much driving yet,  still only 135 miles on it.........Must fix that!

'Twas a choice between the car and the carpet, so started saving for the latter............!

Cheers.

You're right!.....Any excuse & I'm out in it....& then any excuse I go the long way round!

How long do you have to treat it a bit gently & bed things in a bit?

Looks stunning!

Very nice indeed

Glad your happy with it, enjoy!

Forever  :wonder:

We'll let you off asking...just this once.  And you're new, so your assimilation may not have taken full effect yet.
