Floor lamps always on

Featured Replies

Are the floor lamps supposed to be on at all times during driving?

Do you mean the footwell lights

?

They can be set to come on with the sidelights (brightness can be adjusted) not sure if the enabling / adjustment can be done via the maxidot or just VCDS.

yes - footwell lights stay on, though dimmed, while driving.

on the mk2, the brightness of the footwell lights can be adjusted via maxidot.

....or u can turn them off.

I haven't noticed any on mine and there certainly isn't an option to turn them on or off

vRS don't have them.... as standard anyway.

On my bolero radio theres and option called wipes and Lights in here you adjust ALOT of things. when i open the door its on full footwell light when i drive its on the lowest setting, giving a cosy light front and back. Together with the soft convinience light a night.

Ah silly me. I keep forgetting it's not their flagship model....

:-P

I was of the opinion that they're only on when the sidelights+ are working just as Gizmo stated.

In Sweden they may be on all the time due to their DRL settings?

I retrofitted mine.

As Neily03 previously mentioned - they were never an option on the mk2 vRS.

I should clarify that they only stay on (dimmed) while driving IF the side or head lights r switched on.

Otherwise the come on at full power with the interior lights...i.e. door open. Side/head lights on or not.

U can turn them off so they don't operate at a dimmed level while driving with lights on.

I don't know how its configured on the mk3 Octavias.

Not noticed them on my MkIII Elegance, expect another feature omitted by SUK!

@JR RS : can you please give us s some details about how you did your foot well lights retrofit ?

Seems like a lot of work. Good thing it's standard on Elegance!  :p

Never noticed this on my Mk111 Elegance. Probably not standard on the Uk car.

Can anyone confirm if it comes on the uk car??

Definitely not on UK Mk3 SE, don't know about Elegance
