Bearded Oldies?

Featured Replies

Every now and then there is some comment about the apparently advanced average age of Yeti drivers.  This might be verging on discrimination, but it's all in fun, isn't it? (Isn't it?)  There was a topic recently aimed at finding the youngest Yeti member and the question of the possible oldest has been aired too.

Noticing some of the Yeti members' avatars, it did occur to me that I'm probably not the only bearded Yeti member - in disguise since 1970.  Do I see any other hands raised? :giggle:

Brian

I'm currently sporting some face furniture (full beard), which I usually grow for winter and forms part of my winter coat (along with a few extra pounds of additional insulation). I typically then try to shed both in the spring. I'm a mere 38 so I suspect I form part of the lower quartile (or at least the second quartile) in terms of age.

Yes.

I have tried on occasion, but after 3 weeks or so of not shaving I develop a light fluff and nothing more.

Won't grow a beard on the very vain basis that it is the only hair i have that is going grey. :)

Every time i contemplate the idea, usually winter, i end up looking like someone has painted a stripe on my chin and promptly chop it all off again.

Superb's have a Brollie in the Door so I guess Yeti's have Slippers   :giggle:

Had a beard since 1970, a spot of rebellion after leaving the Army.

When I left college in the early seventies everyone received "valedictory quotes".  One of mine was  "He was an old man with a beard - probably looked a bit like God"

Well,  I'm a LOT older now,  and still have the beard,  though almost nowt on top.  Beard and remnants now almost white,  so I probably now look a bit like a Yeti.

Like others, a graduate of University between 67 and 72, and as was obligatory then, I attempted a 'tache and what ended up as a goatee due to an inability to grow anything on my cheeks. Someone commented that it looked like one hair, and fifty split ends!

However the most telling crit was "It grows wild around your ass, so why cultivate it on your chin?"!!!

I've been as smooth as a baby's bum ever since. (on my face)!

this good wife drives the yeti most of the time.....thats all im saying!

Age 52.

Beard most of the time since age 18 - 20.

"French beard" on the last year or so, also from time to time in the past.

I've got a beard in progress in preparation for getting our yeti. So's my wife.

Hope the wife not looking in here  :giggle:, or your dead  :bandit:

40 , beard , smell of wee as well !

Beards are OK, but a beard in progress is an awful thing for the woman in your life  :(  :D

Stubbly beard for me, the wife likes it and I can't say it's down to the Yeti as it has been there over 45 years

If I recall from my yoof................a man withstubble caused me awful rash or redness if snogging a stubbly :( Probably still would if I could keep them still long enough

I thought beard is required to order a yeti.

If I ever buy a Yeti I am going to dress like Vera from the TV cop show (I already sound a bit like her)

Hi , in my youth to have a beard was slack & lazy.

+ Girls didn't ( or there Parents) did not like you.

for 48 years shaved every day, now I'm in in my advanced years.

2 to valley I bought my "Snowman" for me, and don't care what people think.

I'm happy.

I normally have stubble...  but at the moment I'm doing my very first MO since it is Movember... (I normally think very few things can look worse on a man than a moustache, but it's all for a good cause).  I would never in a million years post something like that on here - but since this thread is now relative, here is my Mo page should anyone want to sponsor me with a few pence:

And the pipe and tobacco is in the dash top box.

Yep - bearded Yeti owner here too!

Had beard since late-70's - its unnatural to shave! Plus it avoids having to look at myself in a mirror first thing in a morning. Just give it a run through with the trimmer once a week.

Had Yeti for 6 months.

There could be something in this....... :wonder:   :giggle:

Only problem is the wife is the main Yeti driver - currently away to Sheffield in it!
