Will these wheels be coming to the Fish and Chip meet on the 24th Sparkly?

Only if I am, but should be on the car, yup.

Not sure I want to invite close up scrutiny though. This thread may end with some long distance photography.

Big thank you to the coaching I am receiving via PM

Coat three, more attention paid to the spokes, nearly dry (hairdryer assisted B) )

Looks stunning mate!

......and the exaggeration of the evening goes to....

Just kidding, keep the enthusiastic praise coming, just don't blow it all on the first three coats, we're planning eight :D

Also, I am simply pointing a spray can at a lump of metal and hoping for the best, let's not insinuate any skill is involved.

Coat four was looking sadly a lot like a repeat of coat three.

So I decided to up the illumination by pinching a reading lamp from the front room

And I think we are getting somewhere, the test wheel may require a sixth coat of gunmetal on account of my poor start though :(

Have dilemma as to whether or not to spray up the original centre caps or not, I have small centre caps with Skoda logo ordered if I don't spray the Seat large centre I can make use of the small wheel centre hole and run Skoda or should I attempt to spray up the big centres? Worried about messing up the finish fitting the large ones.

Thoughts?

Run late on my pizza break, back soon

*watching :)

Haha good to have you along Dave, currently on with meat feast pizza and more beer as coat five cures.

Note to anyone that might try this, chances are you will blob and end up catching the paint with a finger.

Fear not..........the spray works by melting the previous coat, building up layers, get another spray on there ASAP and it self levels surprisingly well, probably part of the reason the current finish looks respectable ish.

I like the idea of beer and "work" lol.... I have pizza too for later, funny enough! (on the vodka and orange now (just got in from work) )

only thing id suggest, is ignore the "net" on the angle of the wheel and spray it flat ....

Pizza is for winners!

So far the angle is working really well for me Dave, I am rotating the wheel though so coverage is good.

Currently I'm most blown away by the self levelling properties of the spray, not a run in sight, and I basically have no clue what I'm doing, each additional spray is improving the finish. I've also come this far so to change now will void any results.

Coat five and little change, will leave a little longer, check all the hard to reach places for any weak spots, top up, then we move to the metallic fleck :o

Use of a fingernail to pick at the sidewall reveals there is plenty to pick at for peeling later
