Well, 93 days after ordering, I took delivery of my vRS TSi 230 DSG in Race Blue on what is the worst weather day of the year.

Didn't get into 4th gear on my first 4 mile drive to collect the wife!

Had a bit of a blast up the A38 home at lunch-time and had no problems with the snow on the side roads onto our Estate.

 I am in love!

Stunning, enjoy your new car, I am seriously considering one as my next car.

My 64-plate 2.0 was delivered in the snow yesterday.  Thankfully most road are clear and I've been able to get out and drive it today, in fact I've used ANY excuse to go out in it :D

My previous car was a 55-plate 2.0TDCi Ford Focus Estate, the Octavia it like piloting a spaceship in comparison!

My new Octavia VRS 230 was delivered on Saturday and on Sunday the snow had cleared enough to take it out for a drive

Lovely colour. I’m still not a huge fan of the split headlights hence why I bought the mk3 maybe it will grow on me more for the next car. It suits that colour very very well. Enjoy it.

Thanks, the colour was a bit of a grower for me, at first I wasn't so sure but after seeing a couple I love it!

Agreed with you on the split lights, they're not my favourite part of the car but again I feel they work better with some colours than others.

Spotted this today as the Rathlin Island Ferry terminal, fully loaded vRS 4x4 black and winter pack, Xtremes, Columbus, nice looking car.

Had to take the wife to the Train Station early doors so flexitime allowed me to finish work early and get home and give Vydra23 a decent clean. Having taken delivery accompanied by the Beast from the East it’s always looked dirty.

Used Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=165682&productId=230475&storeId=10001 from Halfords and a new own brand wash pad and micro fibre set and quite pleased with the finish.

Looks lovely Kev, now if I can get the missus to take the kids out the weekend maybe I can do the same...

Don't you just hate it when the vehicle requires 3 hours of detailing fresh after delivery!!!

Looks superb mate! May I ask what detailing products/ steps you used to create that level of gloss?

Reason I ask is we’ve just taken delivery of the same car and colour!!!

Boils my blood when pillocks park like that..

As somebody that parks exactly like this can I offer a bit of knowledge on why? it certainly isn't because I'm a 'pillock'...

Most people drive without a passenger in the car, especially those that park at station car parks. By parking in this way (passenger door up against passenger door) you give both cars more space and room to open the drivers door, which reduces the risk of other people opening their doors onto yours. Yes, if either car happens to have a passenger they will have to wait for 30 seconds until the car is pulled out to get into the car, but for me that is a far more satisfactory result that parking in the middle (like a pillock IMO) and then coming back to a dent in your doors.

Makes sense?
