Just purchased a 57 plate vrs petrol when lights are on auto in dark near side fog light comes on, but not offside.

 

When its day light and put lights on only head and side lights come on, is this some thing i have done on stork without knowing cheers all help much

Some people have activated the foglights to work as low speed turning lights as well. Does the offside work when you turn to the right?

Nearly forgot:- if they are as above then both would come on when you select reverse!

Dont know about reverse when i put lights on normal ever thing fine put fogs on both come on its only when it is dark for some reason.

Does the car have to have DSG for this John or does it also work on a Manual

Cars a manual if that helps asked my mate trev on the forums as work at same place total loss to him as well

It can be either but needs vcds coding as it's not standard.

Mine work when I select reverse, dipped headlight need to be on.

The cornering fogs coming on in reverse is a later edition, as a result the earlier cars with cornering fogs enabled didn't get the reverse function.

 

I had cornering fogs enabled on my 2007 (57) vRS and they didn't come on in reverse.

 

To the OP, have you ruled out cornering fog lights?

 

With the engine running and dipped headlights turned on when you turn the steering wheel or turn on the indicator a single fog light will turn on (only at speeds up to 30mph). When the wheel is straightened or the indicator is turned off the fog light also turns off.

 

When you noticed the single fog light was on was the wheel turned from the straight ahead position? Likewise when you noticed it wasn't on was the wheel straight?

 

Whether the headlight switch is in the 'Auto' or 'dipped headlights' position shouldn't make a difference.

 

If it does and you can rule out cornering fog lights then you have an electrical fault somewhere.

Yes only recently had a  fight with a bus then a tree now at trevs in york  where i live currently off road needed transport quick hence the new vehicle.

 

was at funeral when tree fell on it just got into church lucky or not lucky depends on which way you look at it, great car had 4 yrs owed me nothing, still was looking for new one just not that soon.

 

Just waiting on insurance for pay out and fighting bus company for first hit they agreed to fix vehicle was booked in when tree smashed the back end.

Guy i bought from had a full revo rolling road dont know to much to be honest it goes like stink in any gear got full history had a shed load spent on it recently, cambelt water pump new discs and pads all round done 10300 last service 101000 

 

all at main dealer thats when belts done lad at work knows the car said it was a reps till last 6 months i bought  it off a young man in early 20s who had the work done.

 

Bought car from morecombe just a couple of weeks ago, got some new wheels awaiting tyres arriving before i give her a good run, my mk 1 had remap was nippy but not like this, we can only go by what where told it has recently had over 1100

 

pound spent on it so should be okey dokey.
