Long coding the rlfs did not work, out of range...

Tried resetting convenience or setting it to off but without any result.

  • Got this working fine on mine now, thanks to Triumph61     and have updated the post in the VCDS Adaptations thread.   You need VCP to code the RLFS though until Ross-Tech get this sussed.

  • VCDS Beta 14.6.0 can now code the RLFS on the MQB platform.   You need to code it to 06885D.

  • Hello, I just wanted to let you know that my car, witch is a my 2016 manufactured in november has got RLFS sensor:    Slave 2:    Subsystem 2 - Part No SW: 8U0 955 559 C    HW: 8U0 955 559 B  Labels

What did you try changing the coding to? Only certain combinations work .....

06885D and I think I tried 04 also.

Try 068885

If that doesn't work I am out of ideas :(

Honestly, I am a bit afraid to apply the last code as I saw that it would change the sensor type.... But I tried again the coding of the first byte, first with 01, then 03, and then 07 and all worked (Maybe because the stalk was set to auto previously). I then unchecked highway light (first bit) and the coding is now 06885D but it doesn't seem to work. I reseted the convenience and mirrors and wipers settings but it does not work. To test it, I turned on the engine, slided down some windows, put wiper stalk to automatic, turned off motor, exit and lock car, pour water on the sensor or tap it with fingers .

Did you wait a minute or so before testing?

Did you wait a minute or so before testing?

Yep, let the maxidot turn off before testing

the first testing was done in hurry, so it is possible i did not wait the required time, but since then i found an adaptation: (12)-Windshield wiper-Regensensor aktivieren witch was set to "Deactivating" and I set it to "Not deactivated" and for only one test it worked, a few seconds after locking.

The problem is that the following tests failed no matter how long or little i waited.

I checked that the second adaptation is set to permanent, i also did all adaptations and coding again, still no go. (is it possible that evening/night low light is preventing the sensor to function correctly ?)

After a lot of testing and coding, it seems it is working now.

Tracking back by steps, here is what i did:

- reverted back each of the settings with check on "soft reset", going out of module, removed key from ignition, wait for maxidot to turn off

- applied each of the settings (including "(12)-Windshield wiper-Regensensor aktivieren") with the same procedure as above

- factory reset to opening and closing and mirros and windshield

- uncheked and cheked convenience and rain closing in infotainment

Strangely, after all this it did not work, so i left the car alone, and after a few hours when i came back, it started working.

I will test it for a few more days and then try to revert the "(12)-Windshield wiper-Regensensor aktivieren" to the initial value, as i did not find any information about it's purpuse/function.

Interesting...

Test it also within different timeframe from locking the car. For example one minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, etc. to try to get the point when rainclosing activates.

Changing that adaptation channel should make no difference, it didn't on the RLHS sensor. Also, make sure your wipers are turned to off when making changes.

  • 4 weeks later...

Still working, even after changing back this adaptation.

I thought as much, much experimentation was done with that channel some time ago :)

Thanks for confirming.

  • 5 months later...

Good evening.
There are novelties for coding the closure rain: rain sensor RLHS 5Q0 955 547A 06885D, mounted on Skoda octavia wagon 06/2016.
Using the VCP I tried them all to no avail.
I'd be grateful if anyone has any information.
Thank you

  • 5 years later...

My RLFS sensor with part number "5Q0 955 547" is almost died and I am looking for a replacement sensor! I cannot find any with the same part number (without any postfix letter) in the UK. Among the others, there are several options but I am not sure which one is the best!

1) Replace with the same part number but ones with ending letters, like 5Q0 955 547 A, B, C. But, these seem to not support windows closing feature!

2) Replace with 5Q0 955 559 A, B, C. These seem to be RLS only and don't have humidity sensor which is not compatible with 5Q0 955 547.

3) Replace with 8U0 955559 (B, C). AFAIK these originally belong to Audi and people reported they work in Octavia and it seems Skoda has started using them since My16.

Any help is so much appreciated!

Thanks!
