Machine polished and detailed the Vrs

Featured Replies

Gave the vrs a full exterior detail yesterday and WOW did it need it!

Don't any before shots...or during shots..or good after shots....infact the only pics i actually have were taken after i'd finished and had to pop round the block in pouring rain to collect something for my friend. I know, i know...schoolboy error but here they are so you can get the idea.

Method was...

- rinse

- prewash applied and left to work its magic (angelwax snowfoam used in pressure sprayer)

- rinse

- wash (angelwax soap)

- rinse

- full clay bar and dryed as i finished panel by panel (angelwax medium clay and QED)

- final buff down to ensure complete dryness

- inspection of the paint which showed it was in decent condition, almost swirl free infact! Given this i went for farecla finishing polish on a medium head and final buff down with a finishing head.

- D.A. polish (farecla finishing product used)

- Ipa panels and continue to work until (nearly) defect free

- Final wipedown all over with ipa

- Final buff down

- Coat of sealant (fk1000p for paintwork and angelwax h2go for glass and lights

- Removal of sealant and final FINAL buff down

- Meguiars tyre gel applied (wheels were recently sealed when coated so didn't need reapplied)

- Clean up on exhaust tip (wirewool and metal polish)

So here is the (terrible) pictures. You can at least see a bit of the reflection in one or two!

Thanks for reading   :hi:

Looks good, but big fail on the photos. :P   It seems unless you have before & afters taken using a tripod so the shot never changes angle, you're not classed as a detailer :D

Fortunately, I have a camera and tripod, so I try to do this as often as I can. :D

My car really needs a DA polish I am confident doing the rest!! ANY HELPERS??

Need some more pictures!!

What is your car lowered on?

My car really needs a DA polish I am confident doing the rest!! ANY HELPERS??

If you come to me in Devon, I can help. ;)

Take it outside tomorrow and the pics will be much better!

It would be a shame if no good pics after all that work :-(

Haha tbh the car was in desperate need of it. I was ashamed of how much crud the clay bar lifted! The weather up here has been horrendous for as long as i can remember and will likely be terrible for a good wee while more so was largely about getting some protection on there...plus i wanted a shot of my polisher the gf got me for xmas   :giggle:

If you fancy doing it all over again my car needs a good going over :D

Looks good! Love the wheels too!

Question... And I know theres a thread but cant seem to work out the answer... What badges did you order for the front, rear and alloys? Please :). I have the same model as you so would be brilliant to know!!

Sorry forgot to respond...the boot badge is just a new style boot badge from a new Octavia. All others are just originals
