Wheel trims

Where's the fraud?

None on this occasion.  Just using the friendly nickname by which they are known on some websites.

Wouldn't even pay £15 for them, they look horrible, and will fly off first bump you go over. Best looking on eBay for proper Riff wheel trims, you can sometimes pick them up quite cheap, not as cheap as £15 though, but each to their own.

I have fitted some to the wife's steel winters...They look totally crap too, but she isn't bothered

BTW...Please don't call them 'Halfrauds'. They are 'Halfords' :wall:

2 tins of silver spray paint.

Problem sorted!

I see the topic title has been amended :giggle:

...and make it look worse? LOL

Don't fancy paying £75 for Rif (sic) which is still a piece of plastic.  As for "flying off", many drivers will have lost factory-fitted trims from bumps and holes in the road; easily prevented with a few pence worth of cable-ties.....

Also quite happy to refer to "Halfords" as such.  Didn't want to appear too sycophantic in pushing their products as they are generally overpriced for a lot of things.

Excuse me??

Me too ......"vive la difference"

...certainly no need for anyone to get aggressive about

Milk bottle tops on a yeti. Interesting.

I'd rather see them in original black nicely sealed up and shiny, but that's just me.

Definitely different.

what, like ours

....of course :giggle:

But not for very long, judging by Johann's most recent post on the subject:

No matter how many layers you spray and how many layers of lacquer you put on, it can be scratched off with a finger nail. ...invest in having it professionally done and heat dried in a wheel oven. But that costs upwards of £200+ so black it will be for most.

Hence why, after buying the paint and lacquer, I didn't bother doing the job and went with cheap (£11) plastic trims from Aldi (with added self-adhesive Skoda badge) secured with silver cable ties instead.  At least they keep SWMBO quiet, although they do protrude from the wheel and get easily scuffed.  Even if I were to replace them every year, for the time I'm expecting to keep the car, at £11 a set it's cheaper than a professional job.  (And it's not as if I'm not that fussed about what my wheels look like anyway.  I was quite happy with them being black!)

The Halfords ones look no worse than the Aldi ones I'm currently using.  In fact I might even get a set as spares...

It's like a whole new car!

Oh dear!!

Got to say, I prefer it on the steels to those trims.
