I've certainly never had my helmet inspected (insert childish giggle here)

Comedy gold :D

There were 29 names on the list as of end of Jan, have that many really dropped out due to the date change or is it the reality of putting one's hand into one's pocket?

^^^This

There is plenty of time left though so maybe they'll all come out of the woodwork as it gets nearer

Might be worth repeating, they don't take the money straight away!

Usually two weeks before.

Maybe also worth repeating. :giggle:

I just need to sort summer hols out - going to have to squeeze it in between the national meet and this, not that my life revolves around Briskoda

Wouldn't be the same without you Bryan. :)

Everyone likes to have to have someone behind them, and that's usually me  :)

MSVT told me they take the payment when the numbers are confirmed (or I guess when they get 18 bookings)., so could be sooner than -2 weeks. I asked if they'd take the cash no earlier than a specific date as I have 3 names registered on my card.

I will get round to booking soon, just keep forgetting when i get to work, also as never done a track day is insurance a must? I've seen the tread on insurance but what's peoples recommendations/advice?

I've never bothered with insurance for trackdays.

I'd worry even less so for Bedford.

It's a big wide track with plenty of run off and almost absolutely nothing to hit.

Also the added bonus of the how fast event is its organised through here, so you "know" all the attendees and generally everyone's on the same page with attitude and (apart from Richards Citigo-go) performance is all pretty similar too.

I'll be booking as soon as I know I've deffo got the day off work :)

Bedford is the safest track I've ever come across.

If you make a mistake and spin 30ft+ off across the grass there is pretty much nothing to hit.

With exception of a few corners (which are slow ones anyway) it's just surrounded by grass.

Having no spectator areas has it's advantages.

I've never bothered with track day insurance in whatever I've driven on track.

  • 2 weeks later...

After the fantastic response to the initial thread about How Fast 2014 things have gone a bit quiet now, 12 cars in one session and in the early session only Boss Fox (one way to guarantee a win  )

So come on people, get the phone picked up, call MSV and book your place, money does not get taken until a week or two before the event and it is a great day out.

Call MSV - 0843 453 3000             You do not need to be a racing driver, nor do you need a super fast car, you will have a great time with whatever car you use.

I concur with James, the how fast circuit is brilliant! nothing to hit most of the time, no high speed straights, its really good fun, for experianced, and novices alike :)
