Back calipers gone or return springs?

Featured Replies

i couldn't tell you to be honest. Obviously with the same pads they would be better yeh but I'm saying I see no point in me upgrading to 312's when I'm running them pads and discs, rather be running 288's with Good pads and good discs than 312's with standard discs and pads :) lol .. More than enough stopping power in the DS pads they are awesome

worth finding out if the pistons are bigger, as this will cause brake inbalance as they were designed to be matched to 312mm front set up.

as long as they work I'm not really too fussed lol we'll find out tomorrow

you obviously don't understand the risk of the rear brakes doing more than the fronts?

256 caliper uses a bigger piston. So bigger piston and bigger disc means more braking power.

Hmm wouldn't be what I'd do. Upgrade fronts yes. Upgrade rears no no.

I just stripped my original seized caliper and rebuilt it. Still going fine since October.

So does that mean the rear pistons are going to be bigger than the front pistons in the 288's? If not I can't see the problem, obviously if the rears were bigger than the fronts then yes that would be a problem, surely? Either way their getting put on I'm not wasting £200 I'll just have to put some 312's up front as well

They won't be bigger than fronts, but still your creating a brake balance that was never designed/tested to be used.

just hope you don't lock up the rear brakes and stuff your car through the hedge before you get matching 312mm front brakes!!! :)

that would be a bit of a nightmare wouldn't it I'll just have to refrain from excercising my right foot as much for a few weeks :P would an adjustable bias valve do anything do you think?

I didn't think you could fit a bias valve because of the abs.

Well had them put on today, all I can say is wow. They are awesome

Coupled with the Ferodo's up front. No sign of unbalancing or anything like that, as soon as I touch the pedal now they are instantly to stopping you, extremely impressed.
