Best factory fitted option.....

Featured Replies

I have a May13 OctyIII and there is a chance I will be changing it if the dealer can get the figures right.

I am driving a car with no extras at the moment, and the only reason I will change is if I can add what I want

1) Sunroof and or Xenons.

I feel that the car is stuffy without a sunroof.

Least Kessy. Had it in my megane, and although useful, NOT £300 useful....

Is the colour matrix not very good then ?, standard fit on mine. Hump

Boot netting still my best, its the best thing I've for quietening down the Mother-in-law when cornering hard.

Colour Maxidot is fine if you like staring at blue snowflakes and red doors. I may be wrong but I don't think it offers anything much over the the white on black one?

I have it on mine because it was specced by someone else otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Colour Maxidot is really nothing to write home about!! I think it is standard on the Elegance, and presume it is part of some other upgrade on the SE. but wouldn't tick the option if it were given to me.

IF I order my new car, will need to read a bit more about heated screen, although heated seats is a must. it is the feature that is top 3 of losing from my old L&K.

Colour maxidot has a higher resolution and moving graphics. Ie the odometer "turns" as if on a physical one rather than just switches on the b&w.

Its all small things but after seeing a mates low res b&w maxi I would definitely spec it again.

However. Skoda could have used more colours like the Leon's

There is nothing wrong with the colour maxidot. My reason for having it as the least favourable option is because it offers very little as an upgrade from the back and white variant. Yeah it's only £80, but why not just fit it standard to all models and be done with it. As was said later, red doors and maybe an arrow or two? I'll keep the money and run thanks.

My opinion, of course.

On my Elegance : bi-xenon lights followed closely by the heated windscreen.

Most: spare wheel - should be standard! For something more glamorous, I'd have to say Xenons

Least: Kessy - surely it's not that difficult to fish a key fob out of your pocket?!

I fully agree with Bridgetony regarding most important. It is one of those things you will absolutely curse not ordering when/if you eventually need it, and it is about the cheapest component on the options list.

Most: Spare Wheel

Least: Smokers Pack.

I'll ignore the "should be standard" spare wheel, and go for the Panoramic Sunroof as the one that makes most difference to the car.

There's quite a few options I'd never pick, but of them all I'd be least likely to go for Xenons as they are the most pricey and hence worst value for me.

The sunroof is my number one must have as well. I loved the glass roof in my Roomster and miss my convertible, so it had to be right up there.

Nothing I really hate as bottom of the list, but as i don't smoke, probably the smoker pack.

Most - Cruise Control, it's a license saver!, my Current car (330D) loves to cruise at 120mph (Which is fine for the trips to Germany/Austria!) but NOT in UK!!. Was tempted to opt for Xenons but figured they would be useless without a license!

Least - Noise generator............Skoda....REALLY???

Least was a close run thing with the Sunroof, had one on my previous Golf GTI and only opened it twice in 18 months!

..The main reason I chose them is living in the New Forest with ponies roaming free you need the best lights available. If you hit a pony it is always the car driver's fault and the damage can be extensive (and expensive).

Most: ACC - it's on my order, and I won't have the car without it.

Least: Heated windscreen - obstructs my view all year for the sake of 10 mins a handful of days every year.

Obstructs your view?

Most- panoramic sunroof

Least- nothing !!! Haha

Obstructs your view?

Yes

First option on my list was Race Blue Metallic, I guess everyone else on this thread opted for solid colours!

I see.

(No pun intended)

From my experience with the new car:

Most favourite - Winter pack... there just isn't anything to come closer in terms of convenience/comfort. The alternative of not having this is not something I'd like to live with

Least favourite/useful - Automatic wipers...so far I always find the need to adjust them myself

Amazingly, I am getting more and more fond of both KESSY and electric tailgate - both unnecessary, but feel rewarding

I see.

(No pun intended)

Ha ha!

The elements in a heated windscreen are too distracting for me. Most don't see them but some, like me, struggle to see past them.

Disagree. Doesn't obstruct visibility at all.

For me

Most vital - Sat Nav (Amundsen). Gotten fed up with dash mount jobbies. OEM units have gotten much better at dynamic routing and TMC isnt the pile of proverbial it once was. £550 isnt cheap for what is effectively a Bolero unit witu nav capabilities but for me money well spent.....well didnt cost me anything as have its standard on the Elegance. Columbus is nice but not @ £900

Least favourite - KESSY or Electric tailgate probably. I dont know whats wrong with using a key or lifting a tailgate by hand nowadays, something else to go wrong too (which things like this do invariably).

Doesn't obstruct your visibility, but obstructs mine.

Can we agree on that?

Don't understand why you say it does obstruct vision.
