A change from skoda?

Featured Replies

Is anyone else's mind wandering to other makes ? Seat Leons I presume are going to be bargains soon.A little ford fiesta ST sped past me last night (going the other way I must add!)..it looked, and sounded, rather good.In fact, lots of awfully nice cars out there at the moment.

Having said that, wandering back to my car last night after filling with petrol it looked bloomin brilliant.

It was raining, very dark and there was my octy all lit up looking like the best of the cars at the many pumps.I just thought :wow: looks like an advert. Why would I want any thing else? Made me smile even after 18 months it still makes me grin :D

Will continue to enjoy it till the first of the new vRS 2.0T start coming on the second hand market and pick one up for about

you cant do it! ;) didnt you know skoda is the only good car maker? meant as a joke! :D

I'm always looking at others cars....most recently...Honda FRV....Audi A4 quattro sport.

But like with most things it comes down to money and requirements.

If we get a new car is will be more family orientated so Octy and SWMBO's Premacy will go....hence looking a FRV.

But for time being I got a Toyota Celica as my daily run around and Octy for weekends.

dont go for an audi mate, your paying more money for a less reliable car ;)

Had a SEAT Ibiza before the vRS. The Skoda is a better car!

Dealer attitudes are different too. SEAT dealer couldn't give a f**k about anything, whereas the Skoda dealer bends over backwards for you.

I was considering the following but went for the Fabia estate:

1) Seat Leon - pricey insurance, bit pikey

2) Ford Focus - drive like dogs, crap service

3) Honda Civic - reliable but expensive if anything does go wrong

4) Mazda 3 - see Focus but probably better service

5) Citroen C4 - probably last all of 20 miles before dying

6) Toyota Corolla - just a bit dull, somehow

The Skoda seemed the most characterful, only the Honda would be more reliable (on an average) and everyone who had one seemed to love it...

The current Leon is to be replaced shortly. I think its the last car based on the Golf MKIV platform, all the others Octy, A3 etc are now based on the Golf V Platform.

Nope, Audi TT is just winding down and the Beetle only being facelifted soon and will be with us in its current guise for a while yet.

I looked at a Leon, buit the fact that the car is being replaced, and does not look as nice as the old one put me off.

The Fiesta ST looks ok until they put the stripes over the top then it looks pikey, but it's a bit like the Fabia vRs in that it attracts the wrong sort of attention when you drive it (also the Fiesta is a horrible car in the first place).

I also looked at the golf, but it was too overpriced for what it was. The Octavia (both versions) look more complete style wise with the way the rear is designed as well.

Yes I am always looking at other option as I tend to change quite frequently, currently I am looking into the 4x4 market after buying the missus one, if you can get past the badge thing as most Skoda owners have done already the Hyundai & Kia's look alot of car for the money :)

The Kia Sorento is a nice big car, I have mistaken them for the Lexus equivalent as they
