online insurance quotes for vrs

Featured Replies

I am not sure I am getting the correct listing for the MK III vRS with online comparison sites. I suspect they might be showing only the mk II. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers

Sorted 209 quid Hastings direct. Estate tsi vRS. via Parkers. Cheap as chips

Yeah, Admiral was about the same for me, plus quidco or Top cashback makes it really cheap.

However given my wife's hassle with the above I'm sticking with my current provider slightly dearer however zero hassle factor.

I got quotes for 2014 on vrs tdi estate no probs, came in a range of prices from 189 with allienz what used to be zurich I think to 1500+ by some companies, some would not quote on the car,1500 was a bit high with my one and only fault claim was back in 1984, just changed details over with my current insurers for now, till it becomes due in sept

My insurance company, Elephant, quoted £401 for TDi vRS hatch with some small mods (i.e. heated windscreen, black pack, heated seats, sunset glass). My current insurance on my 5 year old astra 1.8 is £299, so only ~£100 difference. That's comprehensive cover with hire car, £250 voluntary excess, bonus protection and 10 years no claims on 12000 per annum.

Did you declare the mods? as these are not mods, they are direct from the factory and do not need to be declared.

That seems to vary from insurer to insurer.

I did mention these were factory options and not aftermarket modifications. When they read the options back to me they'd been summarised in to 3 categories, one being exterior visual modification I think. As this was just a quick quote I didn't go any further in to it.

I pay £600 on my vRS for Insurance...!!! With Red Star..

I know I pay little more due too someone 18 months ago driving in to it while it was parked, then driving off without stopping, cost my Insurance Company £2,000

I be looking around for a better quote later this year...

That seems to vary from insurer to insurer.

Correct, Bell and Admiral require even factory options to be declared and its one of the questions you are asked "Does the car have any factory options?"

I am with Admiral now, only the total purchase value was asked, not individual option. Same for my other car, Ford Smax..

Skoda Insurance quoted £670 for a VRS. Comparethemiakat turned up Esure as the cheapest at £311 but I wouldn't touch them with somebody else's barge pole. Hastings Direct were number #7 down the list and quoted £384 including European cover. They are about the best rated Insurer by policy holders so I will go with them after my 7-days free Skoda Insurance expires. I collect my car next Wednesday. I was offered a rushed March 1st collection slot, but I was in no rush and have no real desire to look like a Man U supporter prancing around with the new shirt on launch day . Nothing personal against Man U supporters, they used to be a very big club.

Just renewed mine with Direct Line, although was an interesting discusion. Main parts are;

Octavia VRS Tdi

No voluntary excess

Protected NCB

Guaranteed hire car

Legal protection

25,000 miles per annum incl 5,000 business miles

When I got the car last year, I paid an addiitonal premium of £12 for 5 months over my previous car, a Mk 2 Fabia vrs which i was paying about £280 a year for.

Renewal came through at £417 which I felt was a little over the top. Did a check on some well known comparison sites and came up with estimates similar to that previously for the Fabia so I phoned Direct Line for a little chat. However, got no where with them so I asked what if I got a new quote from their website to which they said they would see. So popped my details in on their site and got a premium of £285 for the year so called them back and they honoured it.

So always double check, challenge renewal figures and shop around.

Also meant to say about comparison sites, once you have picked your insurer, try their website direct, you may get a better deal/more benefits for the same premium.

Hastings Direct quoted me 260ish for the year......cheapest I could find, and low excess!
