i have a 56 plate vrs with window issues, i have tied a switch set from a friends fabia and didnt work i also tried mine in his and worked, changed fuses still nothing, removed motor from door and took the pcb out of motor and put 12 volts directly onto 2 pins and motor its self worked, checked voltage on plugs that connect to motor, 12 volts on 2 pins permanent and 4 volts on what i presume is the switch wire when button pressed.. so i think the fault must lie in the electronic board mounted to the motor. unless any one else has a different option to try ?? i have also plugged in to a snap on diognostic computer which registered no faults.. can any one help  

whilst doing the above checks the passenger side switch started working and lowered and lifted 3\4 times left for 5 mins without touching anything and it had stopped 

It'll be the circuit board on the motor that's borked. Had it with mine, both windows inop. Had to get the right motor from skoda in the end - there are apparently 3 different variants of the same part number, all with different suffix's.

 

Did the job, all windows now work lovely!

the part u got from skoda? was it the motor and the circuit board? or jst one or other? how much?

what was the weird behavior you are getting? 

 

mine are being a bit weird, the one touch down does not work but they go up with one touch fine. 

 

on the down if i half press they go down fine, on the one press they judder and then stop...... 

 

have tried resetting them still being weird....

Approx £130 from memory. I'd already spent £40 on wrong used ones so should've bought new to start with!

Slightly embarrassing going into through a drive through and your window only goes down about 2" for every 10 clicks lol.

 

Just order pancakes, lol

To update on the many window threads.

 

Took my VRS to the dealer today,apparently they did a reset which got them working briefly but failed again so they have replaced the drivers motor/control unit and now everything working OK.

 

The damage......£196.00 fitted!  A price worth paying after the nightmare I've had with them.

for that price I think i will just live with mine playing up!

 

although mine work fine on manual it is just the one touch that is dodge...
