Amber warning alert on new vRS?

Featured Replies

This came up on mine, after id gone round a small roundabout quickly, reported to dealer, and thats what he asked me,as theyv had it happen to another mk3,he said its to do with the lights not moving as quick as the steering wheel, from one lock to the other, theee were no lights out on mine, and its not come back

well the dealer had it today and said it hadn't been coded properly on its PDI. They mentioned Transport Mode, but not sure how this would affect the lights.

Paperwork says "investigated daytime running lights error showing on dash. confirmed fault. carried out adaption, coding and parameterization as per TPI"

So, to me, it means, "there was a fault, but its ok now". Its a company car so the suppling dealer is not my local dealer, so they can blame the supplier all they like :D

Isn't TPI a technical bulletin from the factory?

  • 2 weeks later...

I have picked up mine from the dealership a few weeks ago regarding the headlight issue. I was told that they have swapped the xenon burner (bulb) from one side to the other to establish if the issue is with the bulb or the control unit. No issues then for a couple of weeks, however, by pure coincidence when I popped into the dealership to pick up some Euro license plates the other day, the error message came on again.

A new control unit is now on order and the car is booked in again.
