I love my car again, now that I can drive it.

Power steering all fixed - for the second time.

Suspension all set up - this is truly epic, so much fun and so useful!

Still got an electrical problem regarding the speedo lights and the button lights in the car which is very odd.

Also the speedo does not work.

At least I can now use the car, but my list of thinfs to do asap are:

-Build a new raised boot floor

-Sort the blowing exhaust (bad join) just needs taking apart and some jointing compound needs to be used

-fix lighting problem

-fix speedo

- clean car

- take photos

Did you consider a pancake tank to keep the boot floor height the same?

The set up came with a standard 5 gallon tank, I hadn't considered a pancake tank!

For now I will just have to raise the boot floor and look in the future when I'm no longer penniless at getting a pancake tank. Not sure if the height would be much different as the pipes come out the top and that will add some extra height rather than them

Coming out of the sides.

That looks brilliant!

Totally can't afford it at the moment, so will have to temporarily raise the boot floor :(

But that's definitely something I want

Stupid power steering getting on my nerves, not working again... Grrrr!

Time to get it back in the garage :(

I'm hoping it's just a bad electrical connection in the angle sensor cable I made.

Ok, so I found the power steering issue.

It had lost its fluid, so was leaking from somewhere!

It wasn't the cable that I made, but just for good measure, as I had only connected it up with some connector blocks for testing, I soldered all of the joins and shrink wrapped them, so they're all good to go.

I have tracked the leak back to where one of the pipes joins onto the rack, so going to try and get it all sealed up, hopefully by simply tightening the nut!

Well it's working again, will check the fluid again tomorrow.

What absolute MORON decided to put the resevouir underneath the battery tray?

Did you use new copper washers when fitting the pipes to the rack? If not then that'll explsin the leak

Weren't any copper washers on it, just normal ones, so I reused it. If it continues to leak, I'll buy some copper ones.

Thanks mate.

Ah ok, possibly they're silver...but still are compression washers of sort. I had the same issues when I took the rack out of the TT. I got lucky and turned the washer the other way around and dogged the bolt up on the one banjo bolt I didn't get new washers for. You may be ok :)

I've never really "got" air, but that's pretty cool.

Thanks Richard :)

Me neither, I always thought it was sacrificing the ride quality, but it truly drives as good as your average coilovers. It's got Bilstein shocks/dampers all round. Super comfy and great when driving it hard too :)

I just need some chunky knobbly tyres and keep it in off-road mode :D haha

Looking good mate, wish I could afford air.

A new set of wheels will finish it off nicely :)

Thanks mate. Wheels and paint! ... I hate silver

I've been convinced/converted to putting the battery in the boot, by Richard.

Sounds like a really good idea, and even more so because I have loads of room for it that's wasted at the minute because of the air ride.

Not sure how to go about it yet, but will think something up :)
