Aha it may all end in regret yet boys. Got the front on this evening, coolant pipes all plumbed in Etc.

Downpipe nuts are a nightmare! Worse than the turbo to manifold ones. A runner goes only a few mm from the nut!

Intercooler and pipes tomorrow and she's ready to start :)

  • 1 week and 3 days until castle Combe, 6 hours of work and were here.... Also degreased and cleaned and painted my subframe yesterday. Engine will be out tomorrow!

  • Confirmed collection tomorrow :D :D

  • Finished fitting turbo and manifold yesterday, got it all torqued up etc That manifold is evil, majorly awkward nuts I'd HATE to do it with the engine in situ! Went out and grabbed a clutch, fly

Nothing like cutting it fine Josh. :D

Looks like it's going to be good though.

Still covers etc to go back on.

Front coilovers are 9 threads from the bottom and it's still sitting high lol!

Rear coilovers still to go on along with polybushes on rear trailing arm and adjustable control arms.

Love it, good job. Looks like the perseverance and patience has paid off!

Good work Josh. The headlights look great :)

Ongoing dramas with the car but I'm getting there. It should actually hit the road.

Finally have my d2 brackets to fit!

But the pads weren't with it, all sorted now, have a set of carbone Lorraine rc5 pads as compensation. They should be pretty epic!

CL pads are epic. Are you going to track this? If so they do like to throw out a bit of dust and debris from the pad, when they get really upto temp :)

Yes Wardy plan to once it's mapped etc.

Had her back on the road this morning at long last, first time in a month. Had a horrible drive to get tracking sorted, it was so bad to drive I wouldn't take it to my normal main man as he's 30 miles away and there was NO way I'd drive that far like this.

Dropped it into ats for front tracking only, the before result is laughable and explains it all, +10* of toe in!!

All good now sat at -0.10

Time to get some miles on her to restore some faith in it

Bloody hell, +10 deg?! How did you manage that??

Mapping June 30th, be nice to be able to actually out my foot down then!!

I still dearly miss the Megane, of the 8 cars I've had over the past 4 years it's the ONLY one I've missed :(

So long Audi...!

Nice BMW, just make sure its had the software patch applied to stop it being stolen without any keys needed. BMWs are fast becoming the most stolen car in the UK.

Cheers,

Yeah seen about this but I'm not sure if the m3 is affected or if it's just 1 series and also wether BM ever did release a software update for them to counter this?

Christ, you change cars more than my missus changes here snowboardin jacket

These are smart, my mate had one last year... Until he crashed it :giggle:

Haha I know!

This ticks all the boxes.

It's refined, smooth and quiet around town.

Yet step on the loud pedal and it's an animal, scary fast and a wild back end lol.

Fed up of making mediocre cars fast. May as well just buy a quick car.

What a beast always loved the M5 and M3 enjoy it! Just don't get caught speeding :giggle:

It's any model of BMW where you place the key fob part into the dash to activate the ignition and then press the start button. The ignition activates even if the key is not valid, which in turn enables the diagnostics port so the thieves can do their thing.

Does this also affect BMW's where a key ISN'T required to be put into the dash - ie the ones with just a Start Button?

P.S. Welcome to the dark side Josh!
