What car info does infotainment display on your MK3?

Featured Replies

Hello.

I recently got my company car upgraded from a 2011 Elegance 1.2 TSI to a 2014  Ambient (or S) 1.2 TSI model.

I wanted another Elegance, but wasn't an option because of high price, which the company didn't want to pay for,

I have the Bolero infotainment HU. It doesn't display much information about the car (only average fuel, KM, etc...).

I wanted to know if some higher spec Octavias display more car info like turbo boost, RPM etc... ?

If so, do you think I can enable it using VCDS ? (have a friend with official VCDS).

thanks.

The information being displayed is the same on all multimedia systems. There's some additional tricks to show you the battery state of charge (shown to be quite inaccurate) and others that you'd need VCDS coding for.

These are the options I can set, adjustable via Columbus system. These are just 'driving info'. There's also nav, media, driver assist (front assist info in my case), and maybe something else I don't remember.post-108471-0-39844900-1396005090_thumb.jpgpost-108471-0-57137800-1396005106_thumb.jpg

Same as the Amundsen, (I think)

I had the same "problem" when I ordered my car. The car settings are the same in Bolero, Amundsen and Columbus. The only difference is added navigation for Amundsen and Columbus and maybe a few more media file types (for movies and music) for Columbus.

Not found anything extra you can display on the Infotainment display yet.

The only other thing is enabling driving school mode which will show the current speed and which way you are indicating.

I've see it mentioned in the owners manual that in countries you can have coolant temp displayed on the maxidot....

Thank you all for the replies.

For some reason I thought that turbo-boost could also be display (I thought I heard it mentioned on youtube somewhere, but guess I mistaken a different car maybe...)

In general, I also have al these displays, like you all mentioned.

I would've loved to have the gear displayed as a large number on the maxi-dot, but alas no such luck...

I wish you could turn off the gear recommendation on mine, it's bloody annoying.

I thought you could deactivate the "eco tips" in the car multifuntion? What does that do?

That turns off tips on saving fuel, but not the gear recommendation.

I have Oil temp shown on mine (maxidot not infotainment)

Yes that's standard but like I said in the owners manual it mentions some countries get coolant temperature.

Also with VCDS you can have 'Refuel Quantity' shown in the maxidot too.
