  • It's the innocent motorist I feel sorry for, they're driving along minding their own business when suddenly an idiot nearly smears himself over his windscreen. It's people like the biker who give all

Is it any wonder with "richards" like that, that the Police are up there nearly every weekend with a speed unit.

:swear:

No further comment.

It was on itv news website yesterday, just a 40 second clip just before he enters the bend. None of all his overtaking beforehand

those Go Pros are tough.

He was very lucky to get away uninjured with that one!

It was the classic biker error of running wide through a corner due to lack of skill and misjudgment .

He could of easily made the corner if he cranked the bike over and held his nerve but he bottled it!

His natural instincts  kicked in as he focused on the danger and that's where he ended up.....off a 40 ft cliff. Always focus where you want to go!

Noticed from BBC clip that it was on YT. Didn't take long to find.

And yes shows a considerable amount pre incident.

My natural instinct would of been not to drive as fast as he was, regardless of my skill on 2 wheels

I couldn't judge the speed but agree with Mr Rooney that he could probably have taken the corner by leaning in more but was being an by idiot focussing on the car and cutting across solid white lines!  Very, very lucky guy to walk away from that one.

I had though at the start that it was going to be the guy initially in front of him as he didn't seem to be hanging around!

This is another example of crap riding, seeing danger and crashing into it instead of focusing on where you want to go. Some people will never learn.

There is a 50mph speed limit with SPECS average speed cameras but they just slow down or stop on some bits so the average is below the limit. I slope soar model gliders just below the Cat & Fiddle pub and the bikes, and some 'sporty' cars, scare me when I drive there and back. If they want to kill themselves then please do not involve me in the accident.

According to the BBC the police have taken an interest in this one.

Also kinda hoping his insurance company keep their money too.

White lines up the middle of the road are there for a reason. This video highlights that reason.

Let's hope the local plod find him and take his licence away. Wouldn't be the first time a motorist was prosecuted from a you tube video clip.

He went too fast for himself before the corner, panicked and went for the apex too early, froze from the panic of not going round and it was downhill from there IMO.

By the way liger1956. The average cameras on the macclesfield side of the road (before the cat and fiddle pub) dont work. If you ride/drive over at night, youll notice the lenses on all of the ones on the buxton side glow up red, however non of the ones on the other side glow at all.

As an addition to this, the second set of cameras in (from the macc side) have the wires cut and are hanging down.

I used to ride it quite often as its on my doorstep, but dont bother anymore because theres too many power rangers around and its too highly polices.

50mph on a bike is nothing, its too easy to get carried away around those lovely bends.

Id mich rather take a brisk ride across the short cut now

Why would anyone post a video of their utter muppetry on YouTube for the whole world to see?  Surely anyone with half a brain would have kept quiet about it, but then again maybe anyone with half a brain wouldn't have put themselves in that situation in the first place.  Maybe he was on his way back from taking a lie detector test on the Jeremy Kyle show 'cos that always works out well too...... :giggle:

Yes, the entire end of the bell there, if you want to pretend to be Valentino do a bloody track day.

He should have stayed behind his mate instead of trying to show off,

One very lucky lad

Im not saying this directly to anybody on here..

But People say he has no brain, but alot of car drivers would soon end up in the same position if their cars had similar acceleration characteristics.

Its easy done. Every keen driver has had a brown pants moment atleast once, even if it didnt end like his did.

I think this article explains a little more about why he released the video.

Ok he was a fool etc etc.

I really can't see why he didn't make the corner. Wonder if he bottled it and dabbed the brake. Kinda looks like it sat up in the corner which implies he braked.

I learned early on "don't brake, lean more". More chance of making the corner by leaning than braking.

But it doesn't explain why he thought it was ok to cross the double whites on the corners prior to the come off. I can honestly say I've never crossed double white lines like that in my life. I still hope he's prosecuted.
