  • It's the innocent motorist I feel sorry for, they're driving along minding their own business when suddenly an idiot nearly smears himself over his windscreen. It's people like the biker who give all

My only response to the video is What a monumental c***end.

Is it any wonder with "richards" like that, that the Police are up there nearly every weekend with a speed unit.

Top man!

Let me know if you need any help with anything, or pop over to the bikers thread. We'll help where we can! :).

I know its not always easy to begin with, a lot different to 4 wheels isnt it :).

Fair old difference! Got the knack of it now! Just a matter of applying for licences etc so I can hopefully start to get through it all

I know I even borrowed an enduro bike  too much fun!

unsafe riding resulted in me fnearly killing a guy on his bike shortly after i started driving...

he came around a tight, (for him) right hand bend with no view, bike his side of the line, but leaning over so far he was horizontal, with his head half way across my lane,

and a stone wall to my left - ie no where to F'ing go for me, and speed of approach so fast i didnt even get to react and brake until after he'd gone by and carried on.

that his head wasnt taken off by the driver side front corner of my car was a miracle...

I was still pale when i got home 20mins later.

watching that video reminded me of that, and how part of still wants to find the ***** and beat his head in with his helmet...

Sounds abit of silly riding to me! Thankfully everybody was okay eh!

It is super easy to get carried away on a bike. A lot of car drivers dont understand tbh. Every bikers had one of those moment when you realise youve gone into the corner a little too fast.

Most bikes are capable of 0-60mph in around 3 seconds, with that kind of speed, its easy to get carried away and not realise it till the entry of a corner. Then its 'oooooooo shhiiitttttt'

My vfr isnt as quick as a zzr1400 at the high end, but wouldnt be far off up until 150mph or so i wouldnt have though.

(Not that iv been that fast, of course)

I've got a feeling that this will come as a priority before track Fabia as I'd rather get out from this Clio lol

In all honestly, bikes are faster, cheaper and more fun, as a rule, for me atleast.

Id stick to a bike if i was you.

The best improvement to any bike is a rider. Without a good rider, theyre all useless.

There isnt a fabia on earth thatll do a lap time in anything like what a bike will do, and wouldnt leave me with such a smile either.

Also worth noting, on most rides out my vfr gets about 40mpg. To get anything like as much performance youll have to divide that by ten in a car haha. Well, my mates GTR get 2mpg when hes caning it and averages around 20mpg overal. Then theres all the other costs, then theres the insurance etc, and then theres that freedom feeling that you just cant replace!

Yeah there is that! I'll be doing the bike route no matter what but at the minute as I'm well into the project it keeps me busy :) it probably will go unless I am to sheepish to track a bike :)

Just seen this guys video make it to number 19 of Rude Tube planet fails on E4. They had an interview with the guy and he was coming out with all sorts of drivel about how he just mad a little mistake and made the call to ditch for 'safety'! Came across as an utter idiot, just hope they didn't pay him anything for it!

I was pleased that he managed to miss the innocent cage coming the other way.

They didn't mention his conviction, funnily enough  :peek:

To paraphrase a comment by Guy Martin on Speed - you get old bikers, you get bold bikers but there are very few old and bold bikers.

If you make it to old, it is probably because you have had sufficient scares to modify your behaviour and only add the speed when you know you can react in time

My aunt is an ER nurse in Perth (the Oz one) and she refers to bikers as organ donors purely out of habit from listening to the doctors...

she told me yrs back (probably to put me off getting a bike...) On those rare wet days out there, she used to tempted to ring in sick, as it was a guarantee of at least 3-5 young guys coming in wrecked and road rashed....

Maybe so.

But my god its good fun when it all goes to plan.

Yep, the best fun you can have with your clothes on IMO.

Got to try and get out on mine at the weekend.... :o

Me too if the weathers okay :).

In all seriousness. I've been in some fast cars. The only one that would tempt me away from bikes is a GTR.

But then it comes down to the cost thing. And is still be stuck in a cage without that freedom factor.

6:10....

J.

Up my ends that, too many accidents with bikes. Why didn't the guy in the car stop though? unbelieveable. I would be fuming if I was driving that car. It's not just the bikers life that get's ruined it all goes south...

Very nasty road tho...
