secure your sub?

Featured Replies

Hi, I am just wondering what anyone has used to secure their sub/amp in the boot of their car. I have an octy vrs estate mk1 which i intend to fasten down somehow tomorrow most likely with the existing boot clasp things and something else like a couple of mountaineering clip hooks?!

Any other ideas?

I just have a non slip mat under mine and have done for over a year :o. Now and again it moves but if you need to get your sub out for the spare or anything else it saves some hassle plus looks tidy not having anything tying it down

Velcro? Mine is wedged between the turrets so takes a lot to move it, but velcro stuck to the box may hold it to the boot carpet? Or a ratchet strap...i like those :D

I removed the side trims on both sides and made my own boxes.

Shouldn't need much. I've got a single sub in the back of the vrs.

Haven't used anything to hold it down and it's never moved no matter how crazy the driving.

It's a square box but the back is angled so that probably helps.

Stitch some Velcro in or get something like this

And fit to seat belt bolt.

I have a sub in the boot. Held in with 2 x Thule mini straps. Available quite cheaply from Halfords. Very secure will not move at all so safe in the event of an accident.

I put Velcro strips along the bottom to hold it to the carpet, never had it move and makes it easy to take it out if you need the extra space

Valcro is an awful idea. In the event of an accident it might aswell have nothing holding it down

This exactly ^

My box is held down with brackets to my false floor. Needs to be as the sub weighs in at 30kg + what ever the box weighs
