  • Picked up the RS today.     Obviously I am in the honeymoon period, but I'd like to think I've done a reasonable amount of test drives and owned enough to give me a decent feeling for a car.

  • Had the Fiesta ST back for a couple of days now, since it's turbo kit was installed.     Kit consisted of: Peron V1 Superstock hybrid turbocharger, (spool from 1200rpm, peak torque at 2500rpm a

  • As many will know, the ST-3 was sold at 18 months old with 11,000 miles on the clock.     Fast forward a few months....   I went looking for another. Even with my fleet discount a new ST-3 was mor

R888s?

R888s?

Yes.

They are good.

Until they warm up it's like oversteer on demand. :D

Then they get really grippy.

Are you going to fordfair Richard?

Isn't that on the same day as How Fast or something?

No, wandering around looking at parked cars doesn't do a lot for me.

I don't really care for Fords, just like the Fiesta ST.

As mentioned it's also the same day as the Briskoda national meet.

As much as I like this car as it's the best hot hatch out there IMO, I've had to face facts that a 5 door is better for us as a family and I am trying to downsize the number of vehicles we have.

So I've ordered something with the dreaded four rings on the front... :peek: (oh, the shame)

If anyone wants a cracking and well specced car, this will be for sale in September.

It'll have around 8,000 miles on it and be almost 6 months old.

List was almost £21k and I paid a bit over £18.

I expect it'll go for around £16k (give or take £500) due to being an ST3 with the Mountune 215 upgrade, spare wheel and parking sensors.

Do you offer finance? :-)

Initial rental of £15980, followed by 12 instalments of £1.50 with a final option to purchase of £2.

0% APR, T&CS apply.

How did the fiesta do at how fast?

When I drove it at 8am it did a best hot lap of 1.31.422.

Quick enough to come second last year and third this year if it was on the Briskoda sessions.

Which considering it's a stock car with a factory Mountune backed upgrade I was very, very impressed.

Road/factory tyres and brakes too.  I couldn't be bothered to put the 888s on and I wanted to see what it does "out of the box".

Wow that is a seriously impressive time. Almost comparable to 300 odd bhp skodas.

Quick but ugly.         :D       I does beg the question, "Why do we spend thousands trying to make slow cars fast?"  When you could just get a Fiesta and be quick at the odd track event and still achieve very favourable mpg using it as a daily drive..

As it simply isn't as fun :)

If we didn't modify cars what would we do?

Knitting? I don't think so :D

We'll Said Charlie. Well Said...;)

What surprised me was the sheer cornering speed it carries.

Brakes are about the same size as a stock Fabia VRS and it doesn't feel super quick either.

But it's very smooth, nicely balanced with the back coming round a little on demand and real fun to drive with lift off oversteer into corners.

I'm wondering what time would you be able to do in my Fabia Richard...

What is wrong with knitting?      I agree, the Fiesta is quick, drives well but, what would we all do with our spare time?   Also if we were to stop modding our Fabia's we would see any black smoke at the circuit  :p

That's the Fabia owners secret to success :D

That said mine doesn't smoke too badly at all. It's quite impressive :)
