  • Picked up the RS today.     Obviously I am in the honeymoon period, but I'd like to think I've done a reasonable amount of test drives and owned enough to give me a decent feeling for a car.

  • Had the Fiesta ST back for a couple of days now, since it's turbo kit was installed.     Kit consisted of: Peron V1 Superstock hybrid turbocharger, (spool from 1200rpm, peak torque at 2500rpm a

  • As many will know, the ST-3 was sold at 18 months old with 11,000 miles on the clock.     Fast forward a few months....   I went looking for another. Even with my fleet discount a new ST-3 was mor

I keep looking at ford dealers now to see if they have one of these. I know I would want one if I had a go at the dealers but I know what the bank manager would say!

Is that Blue Fez still sat about?

Yes.

I don't need it, but it's such good fun on a typical country road I haven't actually sold it yet.

Despite using it once a week at most.

You want it Jack?

You know you do.

I would've said Track car if it wasn't you :P, just enjoy the car. Go on the Brisky lakes weekend or the Evo triangle with it.

No the drive is full and I've got another one coming.

I've just skipped to the last page, Richard you're selling it? How come? I was thinking of getting one for the wife, so I could have some fun when she's not looking!

I'd hazard a guess at it being because his car collection is up to 11 and the Audi replaced it as a daily driver.

I really rate it, but my Yeti and Skyline are noticably faster (plus Yeti more grip and Skyline more scary) and I no longer need it as a daily.

That said though, it's such a cracking little package I've been unable to part with it so far.

Very nearly got one, cracking cars.  Great all round daily/fun car if you are going for one car.  Possibly right up your street?

But I already have a better track toy and a better mile muncher.

In the meantime I've decided to buy an older TT-RS/RS3 and put all the drivetrain in my Yeti to take it over 400bhp.

Ther more I read, and analyse, the more I agree. I'm only after 1 car for me, and one for wifey. ST3 would be great for her, as I'd drive it a lot aswell, but I need a fast punchy agile x country charger that will also cruise for miles on the motorways for the main job.

As there are only two of you they'd both work well IMO.

Golf R and the cheaper ST.  Golf is the better cruiser as you can vary the suspension settings.

ST3 comes with a lot of big car spec (bluetooth, nav, heated recaros, heated screen, keyless entry etc...) and you can pick a new one up online for £15k or so.

I am guessing very similar systems then?

Hadn't been cleaned in thousands of miles, so was pretty bad with dried on bird poo, some Taylor cone scuffs and resilient cobwebs too.

Nice and shiny again.

At least it got a good drive out there :) looking rather good now.

Yes.  I'm driving it every day at the moment.

I pulled a muscle in my lower back, which has resulted in me finding certain seats more comfortable.

In short, bigger seats for larger people aren't as good as they have less support.

Even the A8 seats with adjustable side bolsters have the adjustment on the side and base cushions, not round the hips where I need it.

The ST has very snug seats!

The Fiesta currently has far more comfortable seats than any other car I've got.

I'll admit, I'm having a lot of fun wizzing about in it.

If the slightly hard low speed ride was resolved with a set of coilovers it'd pretty much be perfect.

Other than lacking two doors of course.

Mountune springs on offer until midnight!!
