Yorkshire recommendations for wheel alignment?

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals

I'm looking for recommendations for somewhere to get 4 wheel laser alignment done.  Preferably in West Yorkshire.  I've been told that Hunters machines are the best but open to suggestions :)

I just found them on google.  Have you actually used them?

I figured it was better to post it in the Yorkshire thread, seen as it's aimed at the Yorkshire folk

That is for meetings only mate

Might give these guys a call, have just replaced a ball joint and both front struts and am about to replace both rear shocks and mountings this week. After all that lot it's bound to need the alignment sorting.

Allcar Tyre and Exhaust on Leeds Road in Huddersfield did my car on their Hunter system for £50.00 with a printout etc and I was very happy with the service.

The boss there is a little old school but the two techs who operate the Hunter system are quality and know their onions.

Do the ABC car place in Leeds have a Hunters system?

Then again the place in Huddersfield are part of the alignmycar.co.uk voucher scheme so would get a slight discount.

Cheers

If you want a reliable garage with top equipment to do your alignment, then you can't go far wrong with any Quick Fit or Halfords, both have probably the best lazer alignment equipment you will find anywhere, both do a free suspension check while there at it and I think Quick Fit will even check your alignment for FREE so you don't need it adjusting then it wont cost you a penny, and for this kind of work I think you will find them very competitive on price as well.

^ This guy is a great troll. How has he lasted this long on here?

So Quick Fit have god knows how many shop around the country and you can find some horror story's, I bet there are tons of garages that are a single site business and also have more than there fair share of horror stories, I do accept that with the big chains there are going to be good and bad shops around different places, same with Halfords, from my personal experience I would not touch the Halfords near me in Mansfield, but the one near me in Newark just so happens to be one of the Best places to go, for one this is where I have Free Suspension checks for one and as a token, sine I do a lot of work myself I buy supply like Oil and other thing like Tools from Halfords Stores partly because I am so happy with work on the garage side of there business.

And it just so happens I have been helped out by the Quick Fit near me between Sutton and Mansfield on a couple of occasions, first Time around I was using alloy dust caps on my tyres (never again) then one day I came to take the dust cap off to check the pressure, cap was stuck ended up twisting the value right off, new value needed, started out back at the place where I purchased the tyres from only 6 months or so beforehand asking if they could change the value, I was willing to pay, was shoved right off and told to come back another day, went to Quick Fit and they did the job for Free, another time on my Girlfriends car she needed a new battery, I got her a battery from Halfords, came to fit it but the bolt that holds the battery clamped in place was so tight rusted in place I could not budge in fact the bolt was starting to round off before it was moving, the same Quick Fit got that bolt off with some much bigger breaker bar than I had access to and if I recall correctly was a snap on socket that ne warned me was ether going to break the bolt or do the job before he started, but he did it and again they did not charge.

So in my personal experience my local quick fit is has not been bad at all, in fact I am going to need a 4 wheel alignment service myself next weekend when I am done fitting my new suspension, and since I just checked and it does so happen that Quick Fit do a Free suspension check and use Hunter System, thats exactly where I will be going to do the job, will be perfect to have then do the suspension check at the same time, and I feel confident that when I drive away my wheel wound fall off because i went to Quick Fit, but will be sure to let you know if it does.
