L&K?

Featured Replies

So what colour goes best with the chrome trims?

I'm thinking Combi again this time, I like white, but think the chrome will go better with a darker colour?

But also thinking Pano roof, which looks good with a light colour in my opinion.

Race Blue of course! ...but generally darker colours with chrome. The pano roof also looks good with the black pack thing and full roof wrap and imo better on lighter cars, like white or silver.

  • Stealth L&K

I have to say I'm really not convinced by the L&K Spec here. Some of combinations of extras over Elegance don't seem particularly well balanced - heated seats but no heated screen for example - and things you might have expected based on previous L&Ks like the panoramic roof are still options.

There doesn't seem to be any discount included in the pricing - normally when you move up a trim level the increase in cost is less than you might have paid for the options ordered individually, but not here with the £4k jump and that means that most people will be paying for some of the spec that they don't care about.

Finally, no choice of interior colour? No thanks.

For me I think 27/28k for something that in 3/3.5 years time will in reality be worth little more than a basic Elegance....appreciate it has alot of spec but its going to be an expensive car to buy in terms of total cost of ownership whether you buy outright/lease, I suspect considerably more so than a base Elegance and a vRS.

I can see the L&K being a rarity, I dont think it will be that popular because of its price and I cant see that many people being keen on the poo-brown dash and leather.

Its just not a value proposition in my eyes but then I would never personally look to buy a near 30k Skoda Octavia.

My 2005 L&K sold for almost a grand more than it would have done if it was an Elegance, it had 180k on the clock and I priced it for a quick sale. You would be surprised in the difference in residuals. Yes, they are also a rarity, I could only find 3 for sale in the UK when I bought it!

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Adaptive cruise was never standard.

Ah ok, my apologies

Knew there was one!

Hows the car going Matt?

I have candy white with chrome trims on a 5 door. I think it looks ok, but then I'm bias as I chose it like that!!!

Obviously Pacific Blue is the best colour full stop

I'm trending back to towards Candy white - the hatch is great in this colour.

With a Pano roof I like the contrast.

The only other colour I really like with the chrome is black, and it is a pain in the neck to keep looking at its best. Candy White has been by far the bast colour I have had on a car for keeping it looking shiny and clean :)

Just ticked over 20k miles yesterday, 11 months to the day after taking delivery, booked in for 2nd service next week. My few early build quality niggles are all sorted, but still finding the suspension a bit too hard over the bumps, mechanically not missed a beat, fuel consumption improving all the time, seeing well over 60mpg most journeys, even had over 70mpg a couple of times between Notts/Leeds through the roadworks on M1, still on original front tyres with at least 5mm still remaining, rears still like new, occasionally still find myself pining for the old berb, but on the whole still pleased with my choice.

How about you?

My previous car was steel grey which is quite light, almost a light blue rather than a grey and it had full chrome window surrounds which looked ok and the colour was very kind and easy to keep looking at its best.

But costs me £500 odd more. My current car is the first non-metallic or pearlescent car I have had for over 15 years, and to be honest I am happier with the paint finish and how much easier it is to maintain.

Or maybe I'm just showing my age LOL :)

Andy

As the owner of a 2005 L&K which also has 180K (give or take) on the clock, can I be so forward as to ask what you got for it?  I intend putting mine on the market this summer, so thoughts on where / how to dispose of it would be very helpful.

I've been waiting for the Mk III L&Ks to come on the market, but it seems like we might have been short changed by SUK again.  The 180 TDi DSG 4x4 would have been a serious contender for me, but it doesn't appear we will be getting that option.

Anyone got any thoughts on whether the L&K options are likely to broaden going forward?

Neil

I reckon they will broaden, as you can't spec full leather unless I am misreading the brochure and options list, which seems odd, but it is £600 to add an electric passenger seat???

All good when i left the old girl 3 months ago. Cant wait to get back in few days.

The suspension is very stiff on mine, but it does seem to be loosening up slightly as the miles add on. Just over 1000 unless my dad has been using it!! The good thing though is there is next to no body roll. So a bit of a trade off I suppose.

No other problems as yet. Quality seems very good. Fuel consumption only average, but its still new. Your car does fill me with hope though.

This time off will be its first trip to Scotland and back. Lets see how she handles that.

Well, Skoda haven't updated the dealer finance systems yet so they don't know if the L&K is on the 0% or not, and they haven't been told the residuals for the L&K yet!

So, you can order one, but you don't know what the monthly payments will be!

Simply Clever :)

I refuse to pay more for metallic paint when im perfectly happy with solid paint. One reason i wouldnt look at a Mazda at all is because the only non metallic option they have is white. Wouldnt be my choice, and anyway, i expect more choice.

Dare i ask a quickie only slightly related to the subject. Only a quickie, promise.

Whats the chance of getting ACC retrofitted to an Elegance that has front assist already?

PLEASE guys get back to the original ? What do we think of the L&K

I'm not so sure about it, the 1.8 DSG petrol only comes with the "wet clutch" so we've gotta assume that means the 6 sp with its Eco Mode faults et.al. a lot of the options are more limiting than liberating & its looks a whole lotta money heck, if you got close to £4k of discount outta a Stealer you'd still be looking at a £25k car or a £12-1/2K loss in 3 years.

I was hoping the L&K 4x4 would see the re-introduction of the 4x4 hatch, but seems to be still just the load lugger that gets the haldex treatment. My first ever Skud was a 4x4 1.8T Elegance hatch and it was awesome, could out run a vRS in the wet!

The Eco mode DSG issue only is fixed now - there is a software update that has been proven to fix the issue.

L & K with 1.8Tsi --- does that mean it will get the more advanced suspension set up???

Yes. A fully independent rear setup. :)

Well, you still can't get a quote - VWFS haven't set the GFV's yet!

SUK are pestering them apparently, but VWFS can't even provide when the GFV's will be published and the dealer finance systems updated.
