Riveted Door Carrier Seal Fix

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just carried out the rear door seal fix on my 54 plate Fabia - it all went well thanks to the guide on here.

However, I've just been reading a bit and seen a thread where someone was saying that the fix will only last 1-2 years and the proper way to do it is to drill the rivets out and the reseal before replacing the carrier.

Has anyone had any problems with the door seals leaking years after carrying out the usual fix using a sealant such as Plumbers Gold?

Cheers,

Even if they do leak again its only another tenner for some stuff and a couple of hours to fill a void in a weekend

Did mine today - as you say ten minutes per side and £5-£10 for a tube of stuff.

Easy peasy

Yeah it didn't take long in all fairness, a lot less hassle than drilling rivets out etc.
